Yeah, obviously if you know my whole "Screw stats, try watching the games" position then thats kind of ironic. Needless to say hes not my favorite NBA writer, but its useful when other people bring stats into the equation.

He's a quality defender, both on the ball and help defender. He still averages more steals and blocks per game than turnovers. He basically is what he always has been, a good defender and lousy offensively. He just is older and worse at both now. Alot of people seem to be of the impression he wasnt trying hard because he didnt like it here. Well if thats true he's a little bitch, but he still probably has something left in the tank for Cleveland, I would imagine.

First of all Nas, you should know trying to get the last word against me is an exercise in futility.

Second, why post their career numbers? If that were relevant then Ben Wallace is far and away the best player in this trade.

Third, cant we basically agree that it was a good trade for the following reasons 1.) They got rid of Ben Wallace, 2.) They got alot younger, and 3.) They got some new blood in here that cant possibly be much worse than the old blood we shipped out.

We can also agree I assume that alot more re-tooling needs to be done this offseason.

Just because I think Smith is better than Gooden, and you think Gooden is slightly better than Smith but alot younger, shouldnt be the cause for this many posts. I think we pretty much have this summed up, unless you disagree with any of the above stated things.

Im still shaking my head at the fact this isnt a concensus yet. I guess we need to see him get it done in the playoffs, and this spring will be a huge test for him/them.

Not only that, but imagine if Paul loses his mind and spouts off at the mouth like T-Mac did all those years ago saying "I'm the best player in this series" followed by BD averaging a near triple double for the series. That would be embarassing times.

No doubt. We are essentially tied with the Pacers.

I just love to look at the box score.

The Bulls are actually fun to watch with this uptempo style, and although there's no superstar, their depth is pretty crazy.

The thing I love about this trade is this: Paxson always talked about stockpiling talent. Up until this season, it seemed he was doing a decent job at that. But this season, it's like all their talent was simultaneously exposed as weak. But I think Gooden and Hughes are fairly valuable pieces; this gives them a strong core of interchangeable pieces, and gives Paxson much more room to maneuver, IMO.

I wonder if Paxson missed out his one big chance to land one of the super stars.....I'm sure he could get Jermaine O'Neal this off-season (even in the same division) with Indiana a complete disaster, but he hasn't been able to stay on the floor, and has a massive deal. We'll have to see who else becomes available this off-season, but I wouldn't be shocked if he just drafts another big man, and brings all this depth into next season.

The other thing being overlooked by this "We're sooo much funner to watch now" crowd is we suck again on defense. I mean like, we really suck on defense now. Also the ball movement continues to be embarrassing during stretches of the game.


Basically we still suck, but we are funner to watch. Yay!!

Well, it's hard to play great D when you are starting a bunch of people who either weren't on your team, or were coming off the bench. The thing I like about the team now, is that there's hope again. Even though they suck, you have the feeling that you might at least be watching a team headed in the right direction, which is something you weren't getting all year.
