I know we have nothing to base this on (other than past guys like Contreras and el Duque), but are we really sure he is the age he claims to be? There's really no way to verify ages of Cuban players. It would make a lot of sense if he's older than he claims as his bat speed is down.

Remember when I mentioned he wasn't the power hitter you all thought he was? And then you all agreed with me because it was a reasonable thought and I backed it up with predictive analytics?

Or that could have been the case, but instead you were dumb.

Last month I said Abreu was a mediocre player, at best, the past two seasons and the Subdivision lost their shit.

Bob posting revisionist history again. MANY different stats, both traditional and advanced, were posted in reply to your silly claim that proved Abreu was a lot better than mediocre.

He does not appear to be a 35-40 HR guy. He is off to a terribly slow start this season.

Because you were wrong.

.835 OPS is not mediocre.

4.6 fWAR in two seasons is mediocre.

Depending on the situation I might agree. However, that is not Abreu's WAR.

2015 3.8 WAR (3.7 oWAR, -0.9 dWAR) .850 OPS
2016 2.8 WAR (3.3 oWAR -1.5 dWAR) .820 OPS
These are certainly not MVP numbers, but they are way better than "mediocre"

That is 6.6 total WAR, and 7.0 oWAR. Since you don't have to take off your shoes to count to these numbers, I expected you to get this. I was wrong. I'm sorry you're a dumbass.

Maybe Bob should find a new sport to follow. Baseball discussion doesn't seem to be a strength of his.

I get / see the joke. I'm just asking how someone could actually Hit zero homers. It's impossible. That is not the joke intended within this thread.

Did you post that during the year he hit 35 home runs or was it in the interim between that year and the one where he hit 30?

Anyway, I don't think you mentioned that he wasn't a power hitter, just that his many home runs didn't go as far over the fence as others.

I know poverty, lack of intelligence, domestic abuse, and inbreeding are prevalent in the south side trash bag subdivision, but what exactly regarding those numbers do you two lemmings disagree with? In that link I posted, it indicated that Jose Abrue was worth 3.0 fWAR in the year 2015. The following season, 2016, he was worth 1.6fWAR. That is a combined 4.6 fWAR in the seasons 2015 and 2016. BTW 2017 isn't looking good either shitheads.
