Not really gonna bother searching for a thread. This is joining The Shield and Justified on the list of shows I should've watched years ago but am just now watching. I'm through the first 10 episodes of the first season. It's pretty good but I really hope Philip and Elizabeth aren't gonna go 5+ seasons falling in and out of love every other episode. It's already happened like 3 times in 10 episodes. Other than that, seems like a solid show.

Nah, it's decent and we're still watching, but it is a soap opera. Very stagant and circular.

I thought seasons 3 and 4 were really well done.

You eventually realize that it's going nowhere. Extremely circular. Good show but in that soap opera mold where you get sucked in.

We like it but have decided it's not a priority anymore.

I can see that. Most shows get that way in the middle of their run where there's no end point in sight yet.

I initially hoped this would be a historical fiction. But I think it's all fiction.

don't listen to Dennis, this is and always has been a great show.

And yes, they get past the "are they or aren't they in love" storyline of the early seasons.

I do think it's ready to end soon, can't wait to see how they do that. Do they get caught? Do they go back to Russia? What about the kids?

Or how about this crazy ending....Philip turns/threatens to turn and Elizabeth gets an order to whack him. What would she do?

You fell for the soap opera! We just watched the 3/28 episode last night after the Cubs game. Good show, just a lot of rinse and repeat.

Actually, they have already announced that next season will be the final season.

Rectify started out great and never lived up to its potential. You'll like Americans. And eventually you'll realize it's a glorified soap opera.

You guys and your smiley faces....

Both Americans and Rectify had excellent plot ideas, good characters, and started out great. Rectify bogged down quickly, and I had enough with Daniel was forced to move. Americans is the same show every week.

We'll see about The Americans. I obviously don't have a verdict yet. Rectify is one of the best shows ever made.

Just finished season 2. I don't watch soap operas so I don't exactly know what Denis means when he says that but season 2 was a great season. Up there with some of the best shows ever.

I caught one of the mid April episodes last night. A soap opera is just a genre where you hang on the edge of your seat with every episode to see what will happen next. But after a while, you realize you've just been sucked into a program that really goes nowhere. My wife caught up and watched three episodes while I was out of town. She said, "just watch the last one and you'll be caught up". It's circular.

Again, it is a good show. I am hoping they come up with a fantastic ending.

Got it. I could see viewing the first season like that. I wouldn't describe the second season like that at all. A lot of major plot points were moved forward. We'll see how the rest of it goes

Each season is always a slow burn, but everything seems to come together nicely each year. Denis must have the attention span of a moth.

Well just take the Oleg plot line in Russia. The CIA is about to pinch him hard, and then they back off. Complete waste unless you like seeing Oleg squeeze people selling fruit.

I don't think that plot is done. He's going to get squeezed regardless of whether or not Stan wants to protect him. If Stan's girlfriend is a Russian spy (we still don't know) then Stan might say too much while contemplating his discussion with Gatt's wife.

Scenes like that aren't placed in there for nothing. Watch for this to play out in the final episodes of the season.

Just started season 4. At this point I'm hoping they kill Paige. Christ is she annoying.

I know it's not gonna happen but I've never wanted to see a tv character die more than Paige.

Nope. Paige is 100x more annoying.

Finally all caught up. It's fucking hilarious that they aren't gonna tell Henry about their plan until he's literally in the Soviet Union and they think it'll be fine.
