Werder is gone the day before the NFL Draft. No one thought this through.

I posted in the R.I.P. thread too but so far it's Ed Werder, Paul Kusharsky (NFL Titans), and LeBrun. Supposedly bigger names coming too.

of course that piece of shit Stephen A Smith is still employed. He's as worthless as Skip Bayless, who at least left on his own or else I'd want his name on the list too.

Hopefully they dump Bucci and Melrose, so they can escape exile and go somewhere that actually cares about their talents.

They're saying Bucci will be gone after July.

Just saw that Bucci's contract will be allowed to expire in July...I think he'd be a good personality for NBCSN's hockey coverage.

[EDIT: reported already] Looks like they've gutted their hockey staff, and will axe one of the few on-air personalities that seems to enjoy the sport as well as be able to converse in it. I welcome more forced soccer highlights and mariachi dancing by Coach and that other guy.

Gonna be funny when one of these pissed-off talents goes rogue and writes a tell-all, name-naming book.

As of right now, 15% of those laid off (or who will be laid off/"reduced" in roll) are women. Is this a bad disproportion or a good disproportion?

16 official layoffs right now, a group 93.75% male. ESPN's going to come out of this refit the most diverse sports media company on the planet, and go to 115% on the SJW reactors.

93% of the staff there is probably male.

Around 2010 it is was, but in 2012 they submitted themselves for a diversity report from ThinkProgress, and even then they had gotten their reporter talent pool into the 80-88% male range. Keep in mind, that was five years ago, at the front end of a very public, gender-specific diversity initiative. They could be at 80% male or less across the board right now, with their "talent" being closer to 70%.

Clayton was one of those guys that made HD tv's a bad bet. I'd much rather see that guy on something made in the 80's.

That commercial with Clayton broadcasting from his bedroom at his mom's house and wearing that Slayer t-shirt under a
tear away suit top is one of the best commercials I have ever seen. Totally unexpected and hilarious. I hope he finds
another outlet to report the NFL as he is one of the better at his craft in my opinion.

That commercial was great, but John Clayton sucks.

So long, Mr. Dewey.

John Clayton looks like that Yellow Bastard from Sin City. That said, if you have none of the familiar faces at ESPN what is the point of their non-live sports programming?

People don't need to tune in to get scores and highlights. The internet does that now. You tune in for familiar and trusted faces and they are getting rid of all of those.

I don't watch anything on ESPN except for games. I think that's a lot of people. Yeah. Because of the internet. You don't need to go to ESPN for breaking sports stories anymore.

didn't/doesn't john clayton have a ponytail that people used to meticulously look through old clips of his segments to try and find, akin to waldo in the 90s?
