I feel similarly. I will add that it is possible she wanted to or wants to marry the guy. She might just have been really turned off by the whole public spectacle and told him no not like this or something.

Public is one thing. Doing so at a park or a restaurant is OK. A Jumbotron proposal is a terrible idea 100% of the time.
