That would be awesome if he was still good. Now it's just sad.

Yes, I am missing the days of PED accusations.

I'm not saying he never took PED's, but his failure now is clearly not because of a lack of PED's. It's because he has no idea where his pitches are going.

Jake Arrieta's BABIP against is .365 and his K rate is the highest of his career.

He is fine. The Cubs defense is boning him.

His FIP is under 4.00 for the year.

Slippers are only acceptable at home and on airliners.

Look at it this way, Jake and then Hendricks had historic career years and we took advantage of that both times. Previous Cub teams would have squandered those precious performances.

It's all about perspective.

He's going to kick himself in the ass for not accepting whatever extension he was offered.

He is 31? He may be starting on his downside now and now is going to lose out possibly.

General rule of thumb: when you have the best half year of pitching since Bob Gibson, don't gamble that you're gonna do better in the future.

Jesse Rogers just on Waddle and Silvy STILL thinks he's in line for 5/180. If he gets that , the GM that signs him should be fired

Unless he goes on another historic run after the all-star break idk how any GM could consider paying him that much.

This in turn puts even more pressure on Theo to revamp the pitching staff. Who knows how long Lester is going to hold up, and with Hendricks looking shaky so far this season the Cubs could be in trouble if they aren't willing to let go of some top shelf prospects in exchange for a #1 pitcher.

Any team that signs Arrieta will be destroyed. The back end $ will be fucking awful as will the deal itself. Pass.

Front end might be scary too. He'll be throwing about 89 mph next April.

For sure. They got his best and rode it hard. Move on. Smart teams do this.
