There is nothing I can't stand more than sanctimonious assholes on the internet that like to dictate what emotions you are allowed to have in regards to your team. That said, I think it's time for some perspective here. In addition to still being VERY early in the season, you have to consider the after effects of winning a world series. Not just the dead arms, but the natural, emotional let down of now playing regular seasons games after climbing the summit of baseball greatness.

I mean, Cub fans, you were told about this. You were warned by the Giants that it is very difficult to repeat. When was the last time a team in major league baseball repeated? The 1970's? Stay with this team, we are the Chicago FUCKING Cubs! We play at the BEAUTIFUL WRIGLEY FIELD! Not some shithole U.S. Guaranteed Rate Phone Stadium. We are high class people/fans, not some south side trash bin of fans. Let's get it together folks! They will win the division again this year. And then the playoffs are a crapshoot, so there.

Yankees in the 90's idiot. Homework.

Yankees won 3 didn't they?

And didn't the jays win back to back in the 90s?

Yanks won two and Jays I do not think so but perhaps.

Some people are smart enough to remember watershed sports events during their lives. I remember watching the Yankees 3 peat; Wade Boggs being ridden around the infield on an Elmhurst Steve, Clemens throwing a bat at Piazza, Tony Gwynn back in the WS in the twilite of his career.

I also remember the Jays, as it was Joe Carter hitting a walk off HR to win it, and they had beat the Sox to get into the WS.

So Bob, you're either really young or really stupid....or both.

That meme is awful.

It was May 15th, and the Cubs do not have a winning record.

2015 was a year that the Cubs won 97 games; all of 6 games less that 2016. Lester was mediocre (IIRC people on this board were getting pitchforks), Arrieta was Bob Gibson, Hendricks didn't pitch like Cy Young, and they had no regular 5th starter. They struck out a great deal and were not great defensively. Nobody cared, because the expectation bubble had yet to be burst.

But sure, go ahead and rearrange all the deck chairs after 37 games.
