So on my Chicago Trip this summer I may visit Sox Park just to get it in. But few questions :

1.Will I get beat up? I don't intend to wear any Cubs gear or any baseball gear. I hell won't wear any Sox gear. Im sure i'll stand out, but would that mean my ass for lunch by the Sox fans?

2.Is the upper deck really that high? I plan to buy the cheapest seat and work my way down if possible.

3.Is the food really that good? All I hear about the ballpark is that the food is great. But my source is Larry Holmes from the Score.

4.Bathrooms clean for the most part?

I hope so.

You will probably get jumped in a filthy bathroom that is 900' off the ground.

1. Not if you don't do anything stupid. I am primarily a Cub fan and I enjoy going there. I wear a Blackhawks cap. I don't root for the other team. I don't stand out.
2. Yes. Even after the refurbishment which took out a few rows. Consider using Stubhub and buying a seat in Section 109 in the RF corner.
3. Yes. It's not life-changing, but for a sporting venue they do a very good job. But most of the good food is on the 100 level.
4. Take a shit when you get there, they are fine then. If you can't control when you shit, you shouldn't be going to a baseball game.

Great place to watch a Game. If you have kids take them on Fridays.

Nobody will beat you up. Wear Cub crap if you want. You won't be the only one.

If there's a big crowd and you have a 500 level seat you may not be able to get down to the 100 level. I think you can get a bleacher seat for $14 for most games. I'd do that so you can get downstairs.

That's not really funny. Any time there's a giveaway there's a pretty big crowd. If you want that stupid clock you better be there by 4:30.

i was seeing the game tonight and the upper deck was a barren wasteland. It seems like you can get lost up there. There were lot of seats along side the lower outfield corners. When I'm in it looks like they're playing the Yankees but the tickets are $7. Thats a great deal. Just the other week at Wrigley I'm sure it was over $60.

The 100s will get pretty busy with the Yankees, especially on the weekend. Bleacher seats are your best bet in that case.

If you have time before or after the game, stroll on down a bit south to Pershing/Fuller park. Vibrant neighborhood with great dining and shopping options.

Do lower deck for sure -- the upper deck really is pretty terrible. The club section is alright though.

Gene K has all the discount codes:
https://www.yelp.com/topic/chicago-2017 ... y-and-more

Actually, looks like he hasn't posted many but you might as well google for discount codes when you want to go -- they are always out there. You get outfield or past 1st/3rd base for about 30-50% off.

You're safer there than in Lakeview, Bob.

The food is good for a ballpark. You are a tourist in a very good food city. Don't eat at the stadium. There are great options even within walking distance in the neighborhood and Chinatown.

1) No - If the Cubs are not playing the Sox @ The Cell that day - leave your Cubs gear at home- that's just asking for trouble & dumb - My advise - pay attention, don't talk shit, don't speak unless spoken to - and you will be ok -

2) The upper deck is not that bad -

3) Food is ok - But why eat at the park other than maybe a hotdog - I grab char dog from Maurie Omallys on the walk in and am ok til after the game -

4) Never had an issue with bathrooms - they are what they are -

That place sucks. It's also not reliably open.

I've sat in the upper deck behind home plate a number of times and find them the be great for the money. Particularly on Sunday when they're $10 and so is parking. Tailgate and the cost and quality of food/beer is less of a concern.

Buy yourself an upper deck ticket, and throw yourself off it.

Jersey Mikes and a 6-pack work for those lacking amenities.
