Most overrated manager in baseball. Without Terry Francona to copycat, Maddon is lost at sea.

Yet Maddon "managed" circles around Tito in the 2016 World Series.

I have never seen a manager so willing to "punt" a baseball game, than Tito in Game 6 of the World Series. He was so "cool" with losing that game. Pussy burrito should have just used Andrew Miller to finish the Cubs off right then an there.

And we're just forgetting Maddon's repeated mishandling of starting pitching in that series, as well as his continual bullpen miscues attempting to copy Tito's use of Miller, and his knowing misuse of Chapman which almost cost them Game 7, then?

None of that happened? Is he not getting shit on in the media by Lester and Hendricks this season for the same bullshit?

Yeah, he overused Chapman too much in the World Series. Probably by about 15 pitches both games. He knew that arm was a pure rental and went for "it" Look who won.

None of that is as egregious as throwing an entire fucking game away, a World Series game to boot, which is exactly what Tito did in game 6.

And he used him in situations he knew were not optimal for Chapman's temperament.

His short leash on Hendricks cost them Game 3 and put undue stress on the bullpen, and they won Game 7 in spite of the dolt taking Hendricks out in the 5th when he was cruising.

And I don't care about Francona, this isn't an argument about who is better. It was merely an observation that Maddon completely changed his style to match that of Tito when praise for his unconventional bullpen use was all over the place. Maddon wanted his fingerprints on that Series, and he nearly blew it in trying.

Both are top 5 managers in the game. Tito is probably better "Xs and O's" wise, while Maddon is better managing personalities, considering Tito did lose that Red Sox clubhouse in 2011.

When they all get healthy and clicking it will be fine. For chrissakes that was a AAA line up today. Bryant missing really tells the tale right.

Good lord! You guys had 4 or 5 regs. sidelined and STILL came one swing of the bat from tying up the game late! Disfunction all around...both teams. But the Reds lost ....that's good.

Didn't catch the game but looking at the box score, Happ had a real nice debut..get Schwarber out of the one hole asap.

Are Schwarber, Happ, and Candelario great or are they AAA players? I can't keep track.

I've only seen 5 or 6 at bats by Candelario, he looks way over matched..send this guy down to AAA to figure some things out, this show casing of him couldn't have gone worse. Keep Happ up, guy is legit.

Candelerio is a guy who was never really a prospect that did very well in the minors yet has no future here. He will be traded at the deadline.

The Candyman batting 4th again today???

I'm sure Joe has a logical explanation but it would be bullshit.

The guy should be bottom half of the order until he shows something at this level.

The same manager who thinks: batting leadoff only matters once, bat the pitcher 8th and have penguins in the clubhouse now must have a great reason for batting a weak rookie hitter clean-up. Maybe he's only cleanup once too. Since none of it matters bat the fucking pitcher leadoff!

I really don't care where he bats people. He needs to work his psychological magic and tell rizzo to nut the fuck up and hit the damn ball. He does need to work on a bs dl stint for schwarber with a trip to aaa. He is pathetic at this point with no signs of improvement.

But yeah, top-5 manager in the game.

Schwarber is an atrocious lead off hitter who sometimes walks. Who they hell replaces him though? Theo really fucked this one up leavin joe with absolutely no one who can lead off. Fucking Jon jay is probably the only guy with any business doing it.

Did anyone notice that the Cards' best hitter, Carpenter, stunk up the joint yesterday? Lester OWNS his ass; made him look like a lost clown up there. Struck him out swinging, looking, and scratching his ass.

As a rule, after such a putrid performance Carpenter goes off the next game. Better pitch carefully to him, Joe!

I loved everything about last year. That being said, fuck this team. I hope joe brings in his magician and he takes the rabbit and shoves it and a carrot up his ass.

Jake just hit 93 on the gun. If he doesn't turn this season around, gonna be tough to do anything.

And they better pound Wainright. Not good letting him off the hook in the 1st.

There will be a glut of pitching and no one will want him for anything more than a Class A project.

Just gotta hope he discovers his inner Zach Greinke low FB velocity game
