I get it, he gets the most out of his roster and players like playing for him. Awesome.

This guy is a fucking moron though. Epic levels. Telling me your starting pitcher who gave up two bombs looked great yesterday is the final straw. The things that he does and say continuously insult my baseball intelligence.

Thanks for the World Series. Now go away.

They won the World Series in spite of this guy's amazingly incompetent pitching moves.

Apparently, he has fed into his own ego. Really showing his ass right now. Wouldn't be surprised if he's starting to lose parts of the team outside of the pitching staff. Those guys already hate his ass I'm sure.

I honestly feel if one of us was the manager this year there would be a 3-4 win difference. He's been that bad.

I thought he was a little overrated before the hire, but it doesn't really matter that much. You can't launch him now.

Made some horrendous choices in the playoffs last season. But he was the right guy at the right time for a young talented team. He did the same thing with Tampa but couldn't get to the finish line.

Right now he looks lost, the whole team does though. Who would you rather have?

I had the same reaction as you when Maddon trotted out some bum rookie in the 4 spot for the third time.

2.2 years seems about right

The Rays were not overly broken up about his leaving.

It's too late now, but man the way he is dismantling this roster the Cubs have is remarkable. If last year didn't happen I'd want a statue of the guy at Guaranteed Rate. And the worst part is he did his best to lose that series. If he wastes this window the Cubs have it still won't be enough to offset last year's doomsday scenario, but it'll at least bring a swifter end to this newer, somehow more nauseating, brand of Cubs optimism.

He's great for a young team, but he's not a great tactician. I could see him wearing on more veteran teams, which ours is becoming.

Fortunately, I'm with Kirkwood in that he won a WS (even in spite of his moves) so I'm not broken up at the moment. Maybe next year I'll want to murder him.

I wouldn't bat Schwarber leadoff. He also wouldn't be starting every day.

Maybe Madden could learn the MAGIC SPANISH and that would help some of the guys out? If not in the divsion, yes, would feel much better about it, as the CARDS want to be the Cubs now and what they did, so getting some of those players is in their plans.

As we have all heard from soebody not on the Cubs, You W-L 60, and its what you do with the 42 that matters ? I know the wins will come with all HR's and the losses will be there with getting a hot pitcher, last night you got your 1 of 42 L'S!

I'm not raging either. Last year has calmed me down for now.

It's just annoying. I don't do anything on the week days but watch sports and play video games after work and a team that I expected to be fun is far from it and it's mainly on the manager.

Hopefully he's fired or Theo yells at him by the time the NHL playoffs are over or this summer is gonna be boring.

I'm with you. I'm not panicking but I was hoping for just a little more success by now. I think 3 or 4 more W's and Cub fans would be feeling a little better. Maddon doing goofy shit like batting a guy 4th who has not hit in parts of two seasons up in the bigs is disconcerting to say the least.

I agree that he's insulting to fans. He defends the players beyond the point of absurdity, beyond what is necessary to protect their feelings.

Well, Bryant and Heyward should be back tomorrow. I want to see:

Zobrist 2B
Bryant 3B
Rizzo 1B
Russell SS
Happ LF
Contreras C
Heyward RF
Lackey P
Almora / Jay CF

All his extraneous bullshit and his "unique" way of relating to players makes me think he's baseball Phil Jackson.

Have we come to the conclusion yet that managers shouldn't even be talked about?

Wasn't the whole theory behind hitting the pitcher 8th to get Schwarber more run producing opportunities? Why would he continue that
