This doesn't make sense. This was a firing but Mitch gave drinky the dignity to call it a resignation. So it's not known by other media outlets. That's my call on this situation.

1. He just took this new update gig. He was on Larry's show saying how he loved his new role.

2. With 3 kids and an alleged divorce you don't quit without something else.

3. I'm sure he was making decent money. He probably got a bump every year. He's been there a long time. Plus he had lots of endorsements. More than any other "Non talk show" guy.

4. No mention of his departure from Score guys. Not that I've heard. And I'm sure if there was, somebody would have posted it.

5. So it's clear Mitch told everybody to "dummy up" on "The Drink Situation".

6. He got no good-bye. No "thanks for the memories". No celebration. I know he was just a producer but they've celebrated other guys with less tenure and stature than him.

Conclusion: This is weird. Drinky done did something wrong. No doubt in my mind. This is sad. Yeah, drinky was bad at radio. We all know that. Still, he should at least get an acknowledgment for his time at the station. Unless what he did was really bad. I'm sure we'll find that out later. Somebody from the SCORE will post the details.

Did they lose IceGirl hubby's sponsorship? I could see that being grounds for termination.

Put it this way, if it really was drinky just quitting, they would have had a little celebration for him on the air. They would have given him a last day on the air to say good bye. Certainly B&G would have done a tribute show for him. Or at least a segment. Since nobody at the SCORE is talking about it, it's clear it was a firing.

They gave him the equivalent of the mob shooting Tommy in the head in Goodfellas so his mom couldn't give him an open casket at the funeral .

I don't think he was fired, his dumb ass just realized he's never going to get far at the station or in radio, he could probably go and make 45-50 k a year in another industry immediately, He hit his ceiling at 45-50k after 16 years...he wants more than a shitty 400 sq ft studio.

Like I said, I think he was fired, but Mitch gave him the professional courtesy to let him say it's him quitting so he doesn't have a black eye for potential employers to see. That's my guess.

Cuz if he quit, they would give him a celebration send off. But no mention of this from anybody at the SCORE. That's telling.

I'm in the minority with liking Matt on the radio. I enjoyed the days (nights) of Last Call when both he and Goff could be silly. These days I can't even hate listen to B&G. Their whole schtick is making fun of fans (listeners)

When he was on Leery's show a while back he sounded genuine in his apologies. Is he going through the 12 steps? I hope he finds his way back on the air. Shitty way of going out though.
