Schwarber has played in 108 games.

Regardless of what side you're on, can we pump the brakes just a bit?

Schwarber tried to field the ball at shortstop for some reason, missed it, did a somersault, and then winged it under-handed into right field.

No fucking way

That was Baez's fault though. Schwarber's mistake was throwing it.

They need to be more aware of who's in left field and basically have a rule that Schwarber can only call off if he is literally the only person who can physically get to the ball.

Watch the replay though. Schwarber didn't say anything. Baez overran the ball. Understandable with the way the wind is.

He was brutal when he played OF in college too. He was brutal at catcher.

He is brutal defensively. Anywhere on the diamond. At any level. There is nothing to pump the brakes on.

Well, I think Sox fans have a gif that will stand the test of time. I would sure as hell use it after any Elmhurst Steve post.

I understand the frustrations, but I ask, just ask, let's back off Tubby a bit. He's had a soft spot in my heart ever since he pulled the "Anti-Derrick Rose" on this ACL rehab.

He's an all-time Cub no matter what. He helped to win the World Series, which is something no Cub since 1908 can say. I love the guy.

That said, I'm seriously doubting his future in the NL. But I'll always love him.

Well put. Let me ask you this....if you could go back last year to that Andrew Miller for Schwarber swap on the table...you have to do it...no?

No way. They won the World Series. I would change nothing. It's the butterfly effect.

I'm torn, because yes, Schwarber was HUGE with those hits in the AL games, but you would have to factor Andrew Miller would NOT be on the Indians.(though I'm guessing they would have paid the piper on another closer, perhaps Chapman, so maybe it's all a moot point).

This whole "the Cubs only win the World Series with lesser players, not better players" argument is so stupid.

It would be way dumber to say that you'd change anything about their roster last year. They won the World Series. If they'd done it with a Little League team, you still don't change it. How is that lost on you?

But they won the World Series. There is no better outcome that could occur. Why would you change anything? It's like saying you'd go back and exchange FDR for someone else even though we were victorious in WW2.

Kerry Wood really is a good dude, despite any feelings people have about his career.
