goes to store at 1:30 am with 5 year old, leaves 5 year old alone in car in parking lot, was in store for 10-15 minutes before car was stolen.

They should charge her with murder along with the teenagers who pulled the trigger.

And if she didn't take him and the house burned down you'd be blaming her for that.

I don't know, man. I've left my two year old in the car to go into like a 7-11. 5 minutes max, not when it's extremely hot or cold, and definitely not at 1:30 AM (she would be in her room asleep). Also, I usually park right in front of the store so I have a direct view to the car the whole time if needed.

I don't think I'm a bad parent, but I'll definitely be thinking twice about it now. That's some scary shit.

I let my 8 year old(very tall for his age, 55 inches) ride shotgun in the car a few weeks ago(back was filled with cargo) and I had people ready to call DCFS on me...

You do most of your 7-11 trips at 1:30am in the Back of the Yards?

Murdering a defenseless 8 yr old in cold blood is a special kind of heinous .

Wake him up and deal with it and he's alive.

I said "max." It's probably usually more like two, and I've probably only done it 2 or 3 times. Anyway, I live in Naperville and upper class white people don't do this shit.

It's illegal in 19 states including Illinois. Cops will break your window too.

I guess I get it because they have no idea how long the kid has been in the car.

Yeah. Cars can heat up really fast too.

The worst stories are the parents that forget the kid is in the car.
