The coywolf? Yeah that's the new breed. Big fuckers.

Much taller and longer based on what I've seen.

Easter Wolves will occasionally breed with coyotes, Eastern Wolves are very small...the big coyotes you see above 70 lbs are half dog half coyote.

Urban yotes tend to be bigger due to better diet. Oogie's Shitzu's litter mates are highly nutritious as are roadkill and garbage. Up near McGraw (near 90/25 exchange) they are doing yote studies on the suburban dogs. I imagine they have weights and DNA. Back when I was doing the fin and feathers classes I had to read some study on yote size and theories. I'm not sure DNA studies were much in vogue or available yet. Yellowstone and upstate NY had bigger yotes than Rurals. We do have migrant wolves coming down from Wisconsin. Mostly males and they'll find something to bred with. We killed a 40-50ish pound white colored yote a few years ago. Nasty bitch was killing calves. There was a red phase with her that was bigger still. He disappeared. Shot a mange suffering one a few winters ago. Probably 35 pounds.

I don't like yotes. But this guy is sick.

I worked for a animal control company for about 3 years and in Illinois drowning is a legal way of killing a wild animal, just saying.

But if I remember correctly you have to be liscened like I am or a homeowner and do it on your own property

Beating is legal too, the Illinois dnr refers to it as "stunning"
But I'm assuming the guy the did this is rightly fucked if caught since he's probably not licensed and it wasn't his house

Big story going around on Facebook today is some asshole from Oaklawn who dropped two poodles off a four-story parking garage yesterday, killing one of them. Supposedly he had been answering lost pet notices claiming he was the owner and people are giving him the pets . Guess last week he was seen beating a different a different dog.

Kill this person and imprison the guy torturing Coyote pups. I get that yotes are menaces but torture is unforgivable..

When the alphas leave that room, that thing is gonna destroy her and she'll have no chance.

It will be like a Caller Bob/good dolphin argument.

Yet another reason for me to relocate there.

Here in the Minooka Metropolis, they aren't much of a menace - yet. On windless nights, though, we hear them howling in the distance...

When I used to hunt deer in west central Illinois the farmer that owned the land expected us to kill the coyotes. Part of the permission agreement.

It's pretty much open season on coyotes in Illinois with very few restrictions. I've never seen a yote while deer hunting, only while bird hunting and #6 lead or even bb steel won't do much of anything at 150 yards.
