Fucking awful yesterday. They should have been up 6 by the end of 2. The Cubs crowd was early arriving while the Padres fans were late arriving, and the ballpark vibe was that the Cubs were going to blow the Padres' dumbass pitcher out of the water.

1 for 10 in RISP will not get it done.

Russell looks lost.

Fortunately, the ballpark is fantastic.

$70 for seats (Premier Club section K, row 13) similar to the back of Section 123 at Wrigley, but with wider seats and an overhang for shade. Great concessions, including a wide variety of craft beer and a little grocery store behind our section. A good burger place (Hodad's) behind home plate which we skipped because we had a big lunch before the game, but I'm going to get that for dinner tonight.

0-3 on my road trip so far, tonight's my last chance to see a win before I have to fly back to reality on Wednesday to pay for the trip.

Sounded like two-thirds or more of the fans were Cubs fans.

A Cubbie loss and a Sox win tonight puts both of them 1 game below .500.

I'm sure the similarity will go unnoticed.

All those years of losing, high draft picks, and flipping players is finally paying off for the Sox!

Is Contetas breaking in a new glove. I've never seen a catcher not catch the ball so often.

Yep. I would always side with people who would not know a hole in the ground from their asshole. Sounds correct.

Horrible 0-2 pitch...did Schwarber a favor, just like the previous at bat when he hit him.

Interesting rotating ads behind home plate...Aladdin Bail Bonds?

I don't dislike them. Cub fans are sensitive so I like giving them shit.

The othwr game was an all time letdown.
Everyone acted like sale vs. Spanishsale was going to be something amazing. .
It sucks.

I expected that from Quintana. Sale getting rocked surprised me. But yeah this game is definitely better than the Sox one

Watching the Cubs is painful. Everything they do is wrong. Opposite of last season but that is baseball. They have the talent to turn it around. Oh wait....

All was forgiven if they swept the Padres but the reverse happened. Definitely panic time.

two rational thinkers...

This team befuddled me last year, as everything fell right. It felt early to me then...but I was proven wrong when they won the WS. This season is what I expected to see last season...all of the young guys finding their levels. This is still a good team, in fact it's in my opinion deeper than last year. I complain about losing Fowler, but he's been so-so to bad for the Cards.

They should have made Zobrist leadoff. They will regret this stretch but there's still plenty of time to come back. But they better get some pitching help, somehow.
