I don't remember Frank being so good in the clutch. He was more inclined to take a walk with runners on base than get a hit.

Didn't Harold have a better B.A. with the White Sox?

Pudge Fisk was Mr. Clutch and could hit the homer when it was needed.

Harry Caray with the call!!

Man, I loved that team.

You remember wrong. From 1991-2003*, Frank had ten seasons of 100+ RBI.

*2001 was an injury shortened year in which he only played 20 games.

Clutch is not just stats. It's heart and WTW.

Frank took way too many walks and the umps allowed his mini-strike zone.

No. Nowhere near. Harold was clutch, though. Remember when he used to win the GWRBI crown, when that was a stat?

why is frank 100% innocent? I get he is a big dude but he easily could have been a cheater just like a lot of his co-workers were during his playing days.

Because he the favorite player of so many guys who love the White Sox.

If Frank had the same career for the Indians he would be considered way more suspect by many here.

Not even close. Frank has been outspoken against steroids his entire career, even before the strike. You could look it up. He came up pretty damn huge, and he seems to have been against steroid usage while still at Auburn.

This isn't a debate; it's not controversial whatsoever. He may have other weaknesses, but steroid usage is not one of them.

Everyone that big with those numbers in that era is under suspicion. Not to mention playing football at Roid U. So yes it is still a debate.

Again if he played for the Indians the thoughts would be different.

It's not a debate. He was against steroids while at Auburn. He only played football for a year, anyway (due to injury).

Thomas and steroids? Nobody says this. If any baseball authority said it, I would have read it.

Of course, there is The Onion:

Frank Thomas Credits Recent Power Surge To Steroids

OAKLAND, CA—After two seasons marked by nagging injuries and sub-par home-run totals, Frank Thomas credited his career rejuvenation and rediscovered power stroke "strictly to my weekly cycle of injecting myself with anabolic steroids." "People ask me all the time what's my secret, how have I stayed in such good shape and been so consistent this season, and I tell them the same thing every time: It's the steroids," said Thomas, who has 19 homers and a league-high 62 RBI since the All-Star break. "I give the steroids all the credit. It's not even just the muscle and the power, but the confidence I have when I step up to the plate knowing I have a total competitive advantage. I just wish I knew about this miracle drug earlier in my career." MLB officials later announced that, should Thomas test positive for steroid use in a random drug test before season's end, his punishment would be significantly reduced for being open and honest about it beforehand.

Frank Thomas is the best pure non steroid hitter I have ever seen. Bonds should have been but he got caught up in the ego trip like all the rest of them. Frank could hit in situations and spray the ball to left, right, and then belt it over the wall. Sosa could belt it long after his flinstone vitamins kicked in. Sosa always was and is a cheating fraud. So is Mark Mac.

George Brett. Then Rod Carew and Ken Griffey Jr.

It's amazing that with all the Cubs hoopla in this city over the past few years, we forget that the Sox have had three of the top six hitters since the late 80s.

We don't even need to go back that far. The Cubs have the better team but the Sox currently have the best baseball player in Chicago and it's not close.
