Cubs Win! Cubs Win! Cubs Win!

That's 5 days in row now that you've had to sing the song dolphin. I know you and Jon Daniels aren't sleeping too well this past week, but rest those pipes because you just might be singing quite a bit going forward.

He's not a pile of shit, but he's not a special player with the bat and quite honestly, his arm isn't that great either. He is saved a bunch of errors by Rizzo. Glyber Torres will be a superior player and should have been the long term SS. Could have packaged Russell in a deal for a pitcher and had Baez at SS in the meantime. Russell has a great glove, great range and has some pop, but overall he's not real special.

He was tonight. His defense played a role in both runs the marlins scored and his bat was just as bad. He will return to Barry Larkin status soon enough.

Because he isn't as good as Rizzo.

Because of the depth of all his struggles, I would demote him to AAA, to work on hitting to all fields. If he could just put pitches on the outer half in play to the left side, he could raise his average 100 points. It would be far easier for him to work on it every day at AAA, where they have a DH too.

they should be dispatching teams like this. these are slumpbusters. i'm looking more at the rockies series coming up and the next road trip, because they were abysmal out west. they need some consistency for me to feel comfortable. but it was nice to finally have a game you didn't have to bite your nails to throughout.

I still think that Russell is hurt, with something where a short-term DL stint won't really help. Don't be surprised if he has surgery in November.

San Diego was a slump buster too, they looked awful. It appears they are hitting better and playing better D.

san diego should have been a slumpbuster, but the cubs faltered greatly. disposing of bad teams is something all good teams have to do; but it's nothing to get giddy about. if it carries them through beating good teams, like the rockies, then that's something.

I can't believe that if he was hurt that they wouldn't be sitting him right now. That was the whole point of having major league backups all over the diamond. It's more likely that the inconsistency is just something people will have to live with. No idea why his defense is suddenly going into lapses. Maybe he did it last year and it just wasn't as noticeable?

Are you starting to see a pattern emerge with homestands against sub .500 teams?

Right, and they are the worst first place team in the league too.

Make sure to vote for him for the ASG, 'cause go Cubbies!

No embarrassment at him soon to be a two time all star!

Parkins and Spiegel are simply giddy over this recent streak (which followed a losing streak). They let me know that hitting is "contagious" and is about to erupt.

This just in: Good teams have easier time beating bad teams than beating other good teams. Which is what makes good teams good teams and bad teams bad teams.

I cannot wait until this asswipe is off the roster.

That's only the 15th home run he's given up.

Good.

Leave this dipshit in the game to take a beating. Save the bullpen.
