Nas might call me preachy but oh well...

Took the fam to a park today. There was a kids bday party going on at the pavilion while we were there.

When I backed out to leave (in the parking lot), one of the kids from the birthday party zoomed behind me on a bike with training wheels. I slammed on the brakes inches from killing this kid. If I hadn't had a reverse camera in the car, I never would have noticed him because he was too short. He couldn't have been more than three YO.

I got out and looked, and the parents were just laughing and having a food time. I told them their kid just ran out right behind me, and they looked at me like I was the asshole.

Some people shouldn't have kids, for fuck's sake.

I assume everyone who parties in a park shops at Wal-Mart. Nomination supported.

There are parents in our neighborhood who lets kids as young as four play unsupervised. These kids run out into the street without looking. My older son is almost seven. The only time he plays outside without one of us, is if he is playing in the yard next door. If I tell him to stay in their yard or ours, he will.

At the park Wed with the kids and my kids were trying down the slide. They couldnt because some bitch wouldn't tell her 8 year old daughters to stop climbing up the slide because kids were trying to go down it. Kids finally went down the slide and we got out of there asap. As I walked by the mom I just said thanks for nothing.

It's not the kids fault. It's shitty parents.

Leash is bragging about a camera. Sad! You're supposed to watch out for kids in a park old man.

Seriously tho, good thing for the camera. You could have at least a lawsuit on your hands without it.

In fairness to the parents he was in a park. I drive extremely slow in parks because I know kids do dumb shit and parents aren't as abusive as Leash. Only a monster puts a leash on a child.

i almost splattered a 10 yo kid all over the road the other day. was doing about 35 in a subdivision, and i saw a kid racing down a park walking path perpendicular to me. I thought he would turn when he got to the road, but just seeing him going that fast got my attention... and sure enough, he didnt turn, he just barreled right out into the road as if i wasnt even there. I slammed on the brakes, missed him by a good 10ft but if i didnt initially see him then that little fucker would have been squished. fucking idiot.

35 in a subdivision? Where's the fire, son? We have a bunch of people around here who, like you, confuse residential neighborhoods with the Indy 500.

I can't tell you how many times I have almost been run over walking in a crosswalk on the way to my kid's school. There is a freshly painted crosswalk on the street, and a huge neon sign pointing to it, yet MANY refuse to stop for pedestrians.

Wisconsin rules of the road:

15 MPH

When passing a school when children are going to or from school or are playing within the sidewalk area near the school.
When passing an intersection marked with a "school crossing" sign when children are present.
When passing a safety zone occupied by pedestrians and at which a public passenger vehicle has stopped to receive or discharge passengers.
On any street or town road, except a state highway or connecting highway, within or near a public park or recreation area when children are going to or from or are playing. This limit applies when the local city or town has enacted an ordinance and posted the limit and where motorists would enter the street from an area where a different speed limit is in effect.
In any alley.
