These parents are like, "oh, I can't afford Sox tickets, oh, I can't afford utilities, how will I afford my kid's college?" Well, your kid probably isn't going to college because getting into college is harder than ever and if you're his parent he's dumb anyway. But why wouldn't you even consider your child's name as a revenue stream? This. Is about. Something. Bigger. Than.your.self. You don't want to explore that kind of monetization? Fine. But don't cry about not having enough money. Explore the marketplace. Assess all options.

Dan's daughter's name is spelled Zoe.

And by today's standards, Zoe and Jace are normal names.

Ok. I didn't know how Zoe was spelled. How would you know how the Bernstein's spell it? I've just heard him refer to her name when talking about her. The way I spelled it was just an assumption.

Not that I would know, but I wouldn't think Jace and Zoe are normal names. And for them to go off on parents for odd names seems strange to me. But they're both very self unaware people.

And I'm not saying Jace and Zoe are bad names. I don't have an opinion either way. I don't give a shit what parents name their kids. But B&G care. Even though they did exactly what they were bitching about today. That was my point.

Some of my favorite strippers have had odd names. "Cherry" was my favorite.

But our government kicked her back to Poland. :(

My statement is a lie. I would never name my kid that.

The only time I've seen it spelled your way is Zowie Bowie. Otherwise it's Zoe, Zoey or Zooey.

Stay feisty my friend.

Alright. Sorry. I admit I'm not well versed on the spelling of unusual names. It never comes up for me where I need to know.

Zoe is a jewish name so the non practicing Bernstein's can claim their relation to the community should it be necessary. Jayce is most likely short for Jason

I looked it up and it said it was a Greek word/name. The Hebrew angle was Eve became Zoe? I missed that part in school.

Beardown's awful misspelling of Zoey reminded me of a time a friend of mine thought the girl version of the name "Erin" was spelled "Aron"

I read an article a while ago that discussed bad baby names. Two that stuck in my mind:

Some dope named his two boys "Winner" and "Loser". Turns out Winner was a bust and ended up in jail, whereas Loser became "Lou" and was successful.

A new mother liked the name Tempest, but misspelled it and named her daughter "Temptress."

That sounds as plausible as the member of the Community who named her kid "shy-THAID," spelled "Shithead"

I named my daughters Flonase and Veramyst & get $40/month from Merck, and $50 from Chubb. The Big Pharma dumbfucks don't even know I did that. Fuckin' idiots.

Just found it:

It brought to mind the real-life story of Temptress told in the book ‘Freakonomics’. Temptress was a 15-year-old girl whose misdeeds landed her in her in Albany County Family Court. She was charged with ungovernable behavior which included taking men home when her mother was at work.

The judge had long taken note of the strange names borne by some offenders. He asked the child’s mother why she had named her daughter Temptress. She explained she had been watching ‘The Cosby Show’ and liked the young actress. The judge had to point out that the name of the actress she admired was, in fact, Tempestt Bledsoe, not Temptress. The mother agreed she has made a mistake but was nonplussed when the Judge suggested that poor Temptress’s problematic behavior might stem from her living out her name.
