Hey Bill, look, I can see you're struggling with your house-building skills, so what we're gonna do is send you back to the office for a few weeks to build some small-scale homes with Lincoln Logs, which will be much easier for you to deal with, and we figure it'll 'clear your head' and thus make you a better builder when we bring you back out into the field.

Mike Trout was once sent down. Last I checked he was pretty good once he came back.

Glad to see expectations for Schwarber have been tempered. It used to be comparisons to Babe Ruth, now we're down to Mike Trout.

Steve Swisher is next. But his batting average was a little higher.

if you think the issue is talent, as the Cubs, you have to push the reset button so you can trade him with some value. If you think the issue is between the ears, you give him regular playing time against less than major league pitching to build confidence. Either way you send him down.

Kyle Schwarber will never be as good as Adam Dunn was.

From 2004-2010 Dunn was one of the biggest offensive threats in baseball.

Schwarber will be fine. I see a .240/.365/.505 guy with 30+ HRs and 85 RBIs on average. If he decides to hit the ball where it's pitched, add 40 points. Right now all he wants to do is pull the ball and he can't lay off the high heat.

I don't. 2005 was so long ago the highlights are in black and white.

If game 7 goes the other way would not trading for Miller have been a mistake?

And had Steve Bartman's mom did the right thing and aborted him in utero the Cubs would have broken the curse in 2003. What's the point of debating hypotheticals.

Schwarber was critical to the Cubs winning the world series. He slashed .412/.500/.471 in the series including starting the rally in the 10th with a lead off single.

We would have no idea! Why do you keep trying to make definitive statements about the past when you haven't the slightest idea how they would have played out?

Him hitting this many home runs in AAA is worse case scenario. He is just going to swing for the fences every pitch when he comes back up, and MLB starters will eat him alive.

I think it's 8 games but it's a hell of a lot better than the abysmal performance at the big league level.

They should fine him for every HR he hits, and fine him every time he pulls the ball.
