I still think it's strange that their logo reads "The 670 Score" instead of "The Score 670" or "670 the Score" which seem to make more sense.

It's irritating, but bad graphic design is not at all strange for them. They probably had an intern do it.

Also, Eurostile numbers are uuuuug-ly and should be avoided at all costs. Thank your lucky stars there's not a 1 in there. It's a good font for science fiction stuff or Radiohead album covers but it's not a favorite of mine. I don't find it that versatile. I mean, Eurostile Wide Black Extended Oblique, that's at least one modification too many. It's not Helvetica.

Couldn't agree more on the Eurostile 1 -- that's one of the worst looking numbers ever, although I think the Arvo 1 may "one-up" it (pardon the pun.) I think a Lato plays nicely, and Poppins is always a solid font.

Arvo in general, like Rockwell, is just a crappy version of the estimable Lubalin Graph.

I'm embarrassed to admit I like Sharp Sans, the Hillary font, a lot. It's more or less Avant Garde without the funky ligatures (which are the fun of Avant Garde!) but it feels much more versatile.

The Hillary version of Sharp Sans really improved on the previous Sharp Sans -- the reworking of the a character is more than enough to make the font stronger, but I also like how the 1 is so much more balanced without the foot added. I don't have a strong feeling either way on the extension of the swashes -- I think I prefer the older 6 and 9, but understand they had to change if you are changing everything else in the typeface.

Maybe it's too obvious, but I don't know why a Score logo wouldn't use eggcrate, kind of like the old TSN logo:

At any rate, they're due for a redesign that better captures their new white-collar wokeness aesthetic, a logo that looks like it says "this is the place to read about how Tim Baffoe feels bad about himself, and also sports."

EDIT: if they wanted to be retro and honor their heritage, they could use the Westinghouse font from the old days of WMAQ:
