Your lying to yourself if you think they are not present at every restaurant, from hot dog stand to white table cloth, at which you eat.

This. Although seeing one by the register is usually a sign that the restaurant is infested.

This was well beyond the norm. And the fact that many employees saw it and acted like it was nothing reinforces Chus' comment

Midget, bigfan and I had this very discussion awhile back. But Chus' point is valid.

Reminds me of meeting a client in the basement of Div. 1 at the County years ago. No one was down there, the food was "prepped " elsewhere, it was a giant open room, yet upon leaving I had to dump out my briefcase and shake out what I was wearing just to be safe since roaches were everywhere

Yeah, I know they're there, but I don't want to see them. If they're actually crawling around the dining room, there's a big fuckin' problem.

This is not as true as it once was.

I would guess there are some kitchens that are superfund sites from all the toxins sprayed.

A regular exterminator will keep roaches away. I would be surprised to ever see one in a white table cloth place.

I used to work for Orkin, Seacrest. You would be surprised a lot more than you would think.

It started out as Orkin, Seacrest and Goodman, but Goodman moved to New Mexico.

Re: the italian beef conversation...

If you're ever in Naperville, try Fontina's Italian Kitchen on Ogden next to Jewel (by all the car dealerships). A friend of mine owns it, and it is delicious. They also have great pastas and other Italian fare if you're eating there, but all their sandwiches, including the beef, are great to just run in and pick up for lunch, too.

I drive by there often. I will check it out.

Cool. Let me know what you think... He's always looking for feedback/suggestions.

I picked up a Wiseguy sub today. It was really good.
