If the Cubs move for pitching,is Russell the one to go? He can't hit worth a shit and I'm convinced 2016 was a fluke. I'd rather keep Happ at 2nd and Baez at SS.

I was just talking in terms of Russell's hitting, but you already knew that.
I don't want any trouble with DS. I just hope the Cubs make a deal soon, because right now they are treading water.

As you are quite well aware, everyone is allowed a poorly thought out opinion.

I would venture to say that after about 5 games of Baez the regular SS you would be bitching about him.

Then by the next season when Russell was having a good year for a new club you would post a thread bitching about the Cubs management for getting rid of a good player.

The Cubs are who we thought they were. It's hard not to catch lightning in a bottle at least once every 108 years.

Knocked in a lot of runs in 15 too, he's young, he will bounce back.

A lot of these guys are what they are. Russell won't suddenly become Nomar.

And what he is for a shortstop is fine if you have your middle order guys pounding it. Right now, they're not so it tends to increase the need for players like Russell to become something they're not.

Russell is way down the list of problems this team needs to address.

Is it fine or is he a star?

It's a divorce year. You are going to have to give him a mulligan on 2017(see Sandberg)

Probably some truth to that. Sounds like he's had a fucked up year off the field.

I would agree with this.

Home runs in back to back games to start the second half. And weird defensive plays.
