Ouch. Guys spew things they want to pretend are facts far more than here. Its not good.

A Guy An MVP isn't helping us with walks. Look at his average with RISP. He's hurt us more than he's helped. And his strike outs are way up.

Phil DeNapoli @Ya Boy IMU - with RISP

Ya Boy IMU @A Guy With RISP, he has a 22.5% strikeout rate this season. It was 23.5% in 2016 and 28% in 2015. Just say you were wrong and move on. It's cool, man.

This is just one example. It is rampant today.

If the larger point is that Bryant is terrible with RISP ( at least late inning-wise) or that he's having a disappointing season I'm on board with it.

Definitely underwhelming on Fridays. Can't speak much to the other six days.

Bryant, Rizzo....maybe both could end up being injury replacements. There are always a few for each league.

No one remembers who was voted, who was picked by the players, who was the final vote winner, and who was the injury replacement the year after.

Oh I have the feeling members of a certain fan base will remember he wasn't voted in.

I have to applaud cubbie fans for having a little dignity and self awareness in not voting underserving players into the game at several positions.

I can't remember anyone that was in the all star game last year.

Its usually a fun game to watch. Its by far the best "all star" game of any of the major sports.

Ron Coomer is thankful for that. Was the "Former Cub and All-Star" voted in, an injury replacement, or the mandatory token player selected from a shitty Twins team?

I'm confused, is the point of this thread so IMU can show us that he won an argument with someone on facebook?

This is my one example. I assumed some of you also follow the Cubs' FB page. This is a common occurrence. Maybe you'd have some of your own examples you'd like to share. I understand these wouldn't be hardcore CFMB sports fans... but the lack of knowledge is astounding.

However, if you're of the idea that new topics should have to be reviewed and approved before they are posted, I'm all for it.

The lack of knowledge of a strikeout percentage with RISP is astounding?

Its Cubs fans. There is probably a good chunk of people in the bleachers that don't even know the score of the game or the count on the batter.

I believe every Cubs broadcast has talked about how Kris Bryant has been reducing his strikeout rate since his rookie season. At 21%, he is league average. Considering his .900 OPS, a 21% strikeout rate is really good.

So it isn't needing to know exact numbers. But any Cubs fans knows that Kris Bryant strikes out less than he ever has by just watching or listening to games. He struck out in almost 29% of PA's his rookie season. It wasn't good.
