Wasn't that more Happ's fault?

Interesting that they gave the error to (Mis)Happ. Even though Schwarber was closer, the center fielder takes precedence and Happ had called for it (as did Schwarber).

2nd and 3rd with no outs for both teams and neither could score.

I just don't understand these pitchers. You get Schwarber down 0-2 and then you groove a lollipop right down the middle and he drives it for a double. Dumb.

Bryant had a great game 4-5, 2hrs, triple, single, 4rbi. He's been trending down. Good to see him carry the offense once again.

Yeah, Pat almost sounded disappointed he hit the homer and not a double to complete the cycle. Was surprised to hear that even after today's monster game, he has only 38 RBI.

I too was surprised about the RBI total. I'm going to have to blame the lack of a consistent leadoff hitter more than anything. Also, Bryant should be hitting 3rd or 4th.

Team in general doesn't seem to be scoring runs. Frustrating as hell to watch or see the box score runners left on base stat.

Smoltz is pretty great. You'd think they'd pair him with someone a little better.

His first at bat was very impressive the way he worked the count. He needs to hit opposite field a lot more.

Lol can't wait to see how much money he cost himself. Oh for the days when we debated his steroid use. So much for his Duncan Keith like stamina.

I just turned the game on and in 5 minutes it went from 2-1 Cubs to 4-2 Pirates. Rocket after rocket.

And Cubs go down weakly.

Zo rolls over on one. Please take that where it's pitched. Riz hits right into shift again. How can you be a great hitter and not go the other way?

Remember when this team used to take pitches. That was cool.

And Denis, it is a miracle that he turned down the Cubs offer. But he will be the top FA pitcher so someone will give him the cash.

So you think he was roided up and stopped taking them in his FA year? He's been bad for a full season now .

Ted Williams never seemed to have a problem with hitting against a shift .
