They are going to be fucking terrible because "fans" like you would rather see a 20 win team than a playoff team. You better enjoy this season ya jerk.

Can't deny that. To be clear though, I don't want 20 wins necessarily. I just want a core that can someday plausibly compete for a ring. I'd take 40 wins with that kind of core vs your typical core of has beens and niche players like Rondo that win the same amount. Why do you like basketball hell?

Exactly. Why torture yourself watching a team that can't even compete for the division?

I wouldn't say I like it. I prefer it to being the Brooklyn Nets.

The best way out of basketball hell is to build around your All NBA, top 10, top 2-3 two way player, 27 year old franchise player. Trading him for what they got is a pretty great way to stay in basketball hell AND give the front office you despise an excuse to go another 2-3 years without being judged for their futility.

Can I have mine? I'm just wondering why the intricacies and nuances of basketball talk(an oxymoron if ever one existed) bother you but those involving baseball dont. I can name at least 10 guys that dissect baseball discussions much better than we do here yet nary a peep?

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I disagree with the notion that people duck this stuff because they feel uncomfortable.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Chicago has never been able to attract elite free agent talent. Wade and Rondo were both past their primes. With these two numbnuts running the show the only option you really have is the draft, and hoping you can sign quality core players to complement young talent.

We've had this discussion literally as much as the pitcher win loss thing. There's a thousand threads talking about this and that narrative is definitely false.

You guys should have an NBA forum poster power rankings. You could rank who has watched the most basketball this year.

Pretty sure LTGay has watched more ball than LTG, FF, myself, Bagels, Vegan, Zeph, and Wolfley combined.

Are we counting espn/csn highlights? If not that has me beat.

I watched the first half of Celtics/Lakers. That's about it besides a few minutes of Wolves/Raptors.

I only watch the teams with high draft picks. I'm happy for a local kid Alphonse McKinney. He signed a 2 year deal with Toronto. I know Alphonse and he has worked hard to get there.

if you're gonna name drop you should probably aim higher.

Watched the Bulls yesterday. That was beyond brutal. Anyone who says summer league is more entertaining than college basketball and cites shooting percentages as evidence must've missed the bulls game.

And Cameron Payne is awful. Markkenan was brutal as well, missed every 3 pointer he took. But, more than that was his lack of desire to rebound. FF is wrong, you can get better at rebounding. In Markkenan's case, it would be as simple as teaching him how to box out, something he apparently never learned. There was one time he was all alone on the weakside. Shot goes up and its long, opponent from strong side comes over and takes the inside position from Markkenan without any fight or awareness from Markkenan. Fixing that is simple with good coaching.

Im not wrong. Bill a couple hours to some rich dick and have your people research rebounding from the NCAA to the NBA. It's by far the most translatable skill and the one least likely to be coached. Even Rajon Rondo became a 37% 3 point shooter. (Hi db)

No I referenced someone that has worked their way from nowhere. This isn't the L.A. walk of fame Miz. I referenced him because he wasn't highly regarded in high school and I'm familiar with his story. I'm happy for him and wish him well.

I love how they cite A Bulls game featuring Cameron Payne as the essence of Summer League hoops. I could also cite Chicago State vs Depaul as my starting point. Each and every high draft pick that has been interviewed has stated that the players are better. The players all played for high major colleges. Think they'd know.

This is a bad argument. The high draft picks aren't gonna come out and say the competition is garbage. Cmon.

So they aren't being candid unless they agree with your opinion. Most of the guys playing in the Summer League were the best players on their college team. Bums like Frank Mason dominated college basketball. Do you want meet to show the scintillating highlight reel Lonzo Ball put out against Azuma Pacific or whatever the hell that weak ass team happened to be?

Buddy Hield ripped through weak ass college ball the year before got in the Summer League and got a lining ripped out his ass.

Again I'm not saying that it's the best ball that you've ever seen but compared to Purdue and Northwestern I'd take this anyday.

You wanted this rebuild. You better get excited about this summer league bullshit my friend.

Nah. I wanted Butler traded but not for a cripple as the centerpiece of the deal. To be honest I'm probably not going to care as long as Gar[bage) is there. I reserve my rights to be a fair weather fan if things somehow turn around.

Do you want meet to show the scintillating highlight reel Lonzo Ball out on against Azuma Pacific or whatever the hell that weak ads team happened to be?

Buddy Hield ripped through weak ass college ball the year before got in the Summer League and got a lining ripped out his ass.

Again I'm not saying that it's the best ball that you ever seen but compared to Purdue and Northwestern I'd take this anyday.

I don't care to respond to any of this. I'm just stating the very obvious - that high profile rookies aren't going to come out and trash their competition in summer league.

I don't even like college basketball so Im not going to continue defending it. But it's worth repeatedly reminding you that your "summer league games mean something" is disproven by the pst 15-20 years of results and by my still standing offer to evaluate these guys before and after the summer.

That cripple stated that he is already back dunking and should be ready for the start of the season.
