That first inning yesterday is everything that is wrong with this team. You saw the whole mess. And even in Friday's win, you saw lots of guys left on base early in the game. The Cubs have let innings get away from them defensively, and they have failed to maximize on offensive opportunities.
Yup. The bad pitching and errors right out the gate could mean that some of the guys were looking past the game to the 4 day break, which would be on the manager as much as the players.
I don't get Bryant getting upset at the booing. The fans weren't booing Lester the man, they were booing the performance yesterday and basically for the first half of this season. You can love 2016 and hate 2017 at the same time.
It was so bad that I turned the damn game off in the top of the first after only three runs, and it got much worse. I am an absolute die hard fan that loves baseball more than life. But I couldn't watch a team that had clearly packed it in. They pulled this nonsense on Thursday with the make up game.
Maddon is the type of coach you hate when the team is running bad. He reminds me of Dusty in that regard. " Awww shucks another loss. Oh well."
