Really? What's that diagnosis based on?
His erratic behavior, his constant contradictions in his own platform, and some of the supposed descriptions of how he lives his life in the White House. There is clearly something off about him.

Dr. Rick takes out Cutler today and now Trump.
You think Trump behaves normally?

Not for a president, but I know many guys who aren't president who act goofier than he does. I wouldn't diagnose them with medical conditions though.

Defense attorney : My client is not fit to stand trial

Prosecutor JORR: I've met goofier bastards than him, your honor!

You keep repeating this as if the entire focus of our nation would be preventing foreign interference in U.S. elections and punishing Russia if Clinton had won. Obviously, I don't believe that to be the case.

Proven fantasy. Republicans are investigating Trump.

I'll admit to repeating facts because much of this discussion is based on speculation. I've already seen people repeatedly say the presence of a bunch of women in vagina hats in the same space on the same day made the house, senate, and FBI investigate Trump.

I don't know why you keep saying this would never happen if Clinton won. It was already happening before she lost, and while she was the front runner. The house and senate would still be GOP-controlled if she won so there's no doubt they would kick the tires on an investigation if one was warranted.

You keep looking at this as if it's strictly a matter of partisan politics. Trump is not really a Republican. The GOP stalwarts would love to make him disappear if they could do so without wrecking the party. It's only their own timidity and lack of anywhere else to go that makes them give him token support.

  To me it comes down to an attitude that, "this is not what we want in a president." I completely understand that. I don't want it either. But a whole lot of people did. And Trump didn't act like Pericles during the campaign only to do a heel turn into Napoleon the day after the election. To say, "No, no, this guy is inappropriate" strikes me as the kind of elitism that help get him elected in the first place.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of Trump no matter how many times I'm called a "Trumpet" in this forum. But barring real crimes, we just have to gut out four years and then hope there is a candidate worth supporting.

My hope would be that instead of fighting Trump Democrats tried to work with him. He's not a conservative. He likes to make deals. Stroke his ego and he's pliable. I think a lot of progress could be made and a lot of old school Republicans would be very angry. That's not likely to happen though.

It's partly partisan politics. But it's partly an old boy network of government hacks who see Trump as a crude interloper. That viewpoint cuts across the aisle, but of course there are political concerns back home for these guys so they don't all have the freedom to be overt about it.

If you're a guy who is 60 years old and has spent 35 years of his life in D.C. you don't want to see some guy who has never held office as president. That's why the Russia thing is perfect. What high-powered international businessman isn't going to have foreign connections? if you can use that to pound Trump you are effectively preventing an outsider- at least in that vein- from becoming president in the future.

The party reluctantly nominated him after he won its primary. I think if Democrats were amenable a bi-partisan coalition would be possible and guys like McCain and Graham and Ryan would be out in the cold where they belong.

It's not just McCain and Graham. The freedom caucus got in the way of his health care stuff too. Ryan was on board with it. The resistance movement within the GOP is much larger than McCain and Graham.

I don't believe that the president did anything wrong. I believe that I have said this since November. I believe people close to him did. I believe he's tried to protect them too. Whatever issues this president is having is because of his stupidity. Reagan likely committed an impeachable offense but he was smart enough to maneuver around his issue. Trump is sprinkling gasoline on his problems.

We agree Trump is an idiot that sprinkles gasoline.

Regardless of where you stand I am not sure how you cannot see how resist plays into this. The republicans don't love Trump but the only reason they are doing the dog and pony shows are due to the pressure brought by the media and resist movements starting not long after the election.

Also some others have said so what he is an idiot or he is mentally unstable just use this to oust him. That is not the best way dragging all this crap out forever. Pick a crime impeach him and convict. Stand for your opposition and do that. Just clouding his admin everyday gets neither side anything.

There's simply nothing to support this and it's absurd to suggest that people wearing vagina hats can force the house and senate to investigate Trump. The vagina hats weren't around for the failed healthcare bill - that was all the GOP. The real resist movement is within your own party, since they have the power. No need to look for folks on the outside to blame.

So it is your position that public pressure as well as wall to wall media coverage that was anti Trump to a point we may have never seen can force politicians to act?

It doesn't means shit unless there's substance to it. Most of the important information on Trump has been leaked to the media via the government, so I also think you've got it somewhat backwards. The media is reporting on information revealed to them, in addition to conducting original investigative reporting. To the extent that the reports are true then there shouldn't be a problem with it - that's what society is supposed to look like. You've already admitted that Trump is dumb and does dumb stuff, so then I'm not sure why you have a problem with coverage that criticizes Trump for being dumb and for doing dumb stuff.

I disagree and really there isn't much point in trying to spend a bunch of posts to say that. Keep in mind the main part of the media I refer to is sensationalist coverage of ant Trump everything beginning nearly immediately after the election. Not just coverage of particular leaks. That said even many of the leaks may have been from resist minded people that lean left and are career government workers.

Sure, we strongly disagree. For what it's worth, I think you've got a slanted point of view on this issue. For example, check this out:

pittmike wrote:

How could you possibly know the political leanings and job histories of anonymous leakers? This is what I mean by a slanted point of view. For you it seems that everything critical of Trump is the fault of "resist minded people that lean left and are career government workers" even when we're talking about republicans. Even Trump said Russia meddled with the election. IS he also part of the "resist minded people that lean left and are career government workers" crowd? It also begs this question: let's say a resist-minded left leaning career government worker uncovers actual crimes committed by Trump. Are you on board with prosecuting Trump or would you see this as another hit job by the left? I think I know where you'll fall on that one.

Of course my opinion is slanted...

Too many stories like this one give me a suspicion of the source of many leaks to say the least.

http://freebeacon.com/politics/top-lawm ... ied-intel/

Just a suspicion though as I am sure as I am sure McCain also hates him and would do anything to get him out.

By slanted I meant more than just opinions, I mean that you might be hopelessly partisan, and that objectivity is out of your reach. That's fine though if you want to admit it, it just means your posts will continue to be predictable. :D

Work with him on what? What does the guy actually believe in? Building a wall? He is an idiot figurehead who offers nothing. Do you place any blame on him or is it just on Democrats for not "working with him"? Not to mention the fact that Republicans can't even write a bill that their own party agrees with.

Let me ask you this: what expectations do you have of a president? Is he just there as a figurehead or is he supposed to be involved in the political process? If he is, why wouldn't you be criticizing him for not doing that? The president of the U.S. has the maturity of a 12-year-old, and instead of blaming him for his own lack of basic knowledge, understanding, intellectual curiosity, or ability, you criticize others for not lowering their standards and humoring his ridiculousness in the name of "working with him" (which probably wouldn't even work anyway).

Maybe we should just hire homeless people at $2 an hour to build our roads and then bitch when the people driving on the roads can't adapt to bridges with gaps in them or expressways with no pavement.

Work with him on what? What does the guy actually believe in? Building a wall? He is an idiot figurehead who offers nothing. Do you place any blame on him or is it just on Democrats for not "working with him"? Not to mention the fact that Republicans can't even write a bill that their own party agrees with.

Outside of Trump's "issues" where he is his own worst enemy I really do not get the bold part either. Yes, it is not like he is a classic R president like say Romney would be so there can't be all in agreement. But how they just let the days and months slip by with the power and not getting most of what they want done is beyond me.

You cannot work with a guy who doesn't understand the issues or care to learn them. It's been reported by MANY that the last person the president speaks with is the policy position he will ape. He called the House healthcare bill "mean" days after he praised them for passing a bill. How do you think they felt after putting their careers on the line to get it done? He has repeatedly thrown people under the bus who try to clean up MANY of the messes he's made. The only thing he's been consistent about is Putin and Russia. NEARLY all of Trump's issues are his own making.

I wouldn't put it in terms of "placing blame". Some of the things you say above are true, but it's not like Trump is some idiot that can't have a reasonable discussion like Baby McNown. He's not a conservative ideologue like Ryan or Cruz. There is agreement to be found with Trump on things you and I would support if Democrats weren't so busy trying to RESIST.

Which things? Wasn't the whole point of leash's post asking for specifics?

 This is a fucking message board and I don't think any U.S. Congressmen post here. I'm not providing "specifics". I'm just pointing out that Trump seems to be a pragmatic guy whether you like his style or not. I'm sure he'd be more than willing to deal with Democrats. Whether there would be enough reasonable and moderate Republicans in that case, who knows?

I understand that Trump is a crude vulgarian who is off-putting and he has insulted probably over half the people in Washington. But there is a long tradition in this country of what we call the "loyal opposition". There's nothing negative about that. In fact, it's noble. But ever since Bill Clinton we've seen signs of what I would call a "disloyal opposition". And now it's full on RESISTANCE to a duly elected president. Constant over-the-top comparisons to Hitler and Mussolini. Really absurd.
