Does this person have legitimate mental health issues or does she need a few mental health days because Starbucks was out of whatever it is she likes and Hillary's loss still stings? If it's the former I would have just contacted my boss as it's no one else's business, but maybe it's different where she works and/or it's just different for the younger generation who shares every damn thing about their lives with anyone and everyone.

I did have a previous employer (13 years ago or so) who encouraged people to take mental health days (i.e. you're sick of everyone's shit) if they needed one.

At the bottom of the article where the comments section would usually be it said:

yeah i dont' have much of an issue with this. it seems on the surface really stupid and the wording sounds dumb but just taking off a few days to go fishing is the same way. i do that because i just need a damn break.

This is why we need guys like Elon to guilt trip people for not working on Saturdays. Our greatest hope is that Silicon Valley successfully does create the feudal society of their dreams, as working less than 90 hours a week creates moral decay.

She's calling in sick for Thurs and Fri so she can have a 4 day weekend. That's not a vacation leave, thats not calling in sick, that's straight up just calling in work and saying "nope I don't feel like it"

If she had sick days to burn she would say that.

the term "mental health day" has been around. it's not like this is a new concept. this is just more bullshit that fills up the internet they call "news".

what makes her annoying is her penchant for *posting* about this publicly. yay, your boss approved a few days. are you the same person that starts the Friday countdown Tuesday morning?

That's such crap. Are men just supposed to sit back and take all these people silencing our voices? Virtually 80% of all comments on articles are written by men, so why is this targeting acceptable but other targeting is not?
