DOE killed funding for it about 10 years ago when instituting a rule that they would only fund anti-drug programs that were proven to be effective and the data on D.A.R.E. showed it was anything but.

I will say for the record I don't buy the JFK conspiracy theories. I believe most of those sprung up because it's tough to swallow that such a well regarded President can be taken down by someone who was a literal failure at almost everything he did in life.
