I think at this point, they could probably get something for Robertson. Hopefully this expedites Frazier and Melky going somewhere, too.

they need to pull the trigger on robertson-to-washington

i think they could get a nice bucket of chum for frazier

or perhaps vcr tapes for the sixth season of the Cosby show (commercials included)

Yup. I would think (hope) that Robertson and Frazier are traded very soon. Melky will probably be moved, but he could be a waiver deal.

Cuz the Sox always suck regardless of how they tinker with that suck.

I have to think some sucker of a contender will want Frazier's bat somewhere.

They will. Moustakas is off the board now. David Robertson may be the most valuable knowingly available player right now. If Sox eat a good chunk of pay and he is paired with Swarzak/Kahnle or Frazier, it will be another small haul. Wash is obvious, but DRob and Frazier to BOS makes alot of sense.

I'll take season 4, not season 5.

This should also keep the Sox from moving to North Dakota.

In order of how much the Sox should get in return:
Abreu (They won't trade him though)
Kahnle
Robertson
Avi
Frazier
Yolmer
Melky

All of them except Abreu should be gone by months end. Avi is the only one I could see sticking around. Holland, Migo or Shields might be waivers deals if the Sox get lucky.

Makes no sense to trade Avi unless you're certain another team is overpaying.

They should be able to add one, perhaps two, more top 100 prospects. If the are willing to package lesser assets they could maybe stretch that to three but I wouldn't count on it. It does present a great opportunity to absolutely load up on more pitching prospects, a commodity they don't really need more of but are always nice to have around.

They are also going to make a run at the #1 overall pick now because when it's just Abreu and a bunch of bums they will be unable to win any games.

Don't really need him. If St Louis offers something decent they should do it. Expect the ship to start turning around next year and give up on even watching bad White Sox baseball until then (or when Moncada comes up).

Catch Philly? I dunno....

Philly will get a little better while the Sox are two or three trades away from being a AAA team.

If Rodon had a lights out second half I'd deal him too in the offseason.

The payroll is going to drop so significantly that I would hope they are looking to buy out his first two years of FA with a long term deal. Boras might do it with this many years left before FA.

You might question Hahn but it's not for lack of trying.

Let's step away from the bong and look at this in a vacuum Farvio

They've gotten the top 2 prospects from Carmine, Nat, and Cub plus Robert
In six months. For Sale, Eaton, Quintana.

They were losing 90 games with those three

The weed jokes are lame but you're missing the point. Kenny and Hahn don't deserve the opportunity to be doing this rebuild in the first place. If all this works out then great. It's very unlikely it will with them at the helm.

I think this is the first time where Hahn has had about a free a reign as one can have on a Reinsdorf team.

They are lame but the same comment would be made regardless of poster

Hahn is pretty smart. If he was shitcanned tomorrow almost every team would hire him. You're wrapped up in some residual Kenny hate which I suppose is a natural reaction.

The 11-20 best players in the White Sox system right now would be the best crop of prospects the Sox had in any given year between 2006 and 2015. The depth is really impressive, guys like Micker Adolfo and Spencer Adams who barely register excitement nowadays would've been cornerstones back then.

It's a lot more than the guys at the top, and if the Sox manage to rebuild a core on the level of Sale/Q/Abreu/Eaton out of Moncada/Jimenez/Robert/Kopech/Giolito/2018 1st rounder they will be in an infinitely better position to supplement that core internally rather than they were before. Shit like the Dunn signing, Samardzija trade and Frazier acquisition that have really done nothing for the team were a product of not having enough reinforcements from the farm. Nowhere was this more evident than the pen.

Robertson is the one last piece that Hahn HAS to get right. I think everyone after that will bring in fliers. He has to get a known entity for Robertson.

Is there any other contender besides the Nationals in real need?

I think Milwaukee is the kind of long suffering team that you can manipulate for prospects once they know they are for real this year.

Fire Hahn, give Kenny the reigns back so we can get rid of these prospects for aging vets passed their prime!
