I'm not sorry for going good dolphin on everyone today for this.

So anyone who actually knows something, what's the scoop on the rest of this deal? Consolidate my googling for me since I have to do some work at some point today.

Cease is the Cubs A ball equivalent to Quintana.

13 starts with a 1-2 record and a 2.59 ERA

Great arm, but doubt he stays a starter.

Cease can hit 100 but I don't think he will stick as a starter, even if he makes the majors. His arm is fragile.

Bullpen guy? Or full out bust?

Cease is a pen arm, but he could be a really, really good one. Him and Burdi are a very solid foundation on which to build a lights out bullpen.

Never apologize for being better than others.

Work to bring others up to your level rather than letting them drag you down to theirs

Bryant Flete is kind of interesting, he's kinda old but his numbers look good. You wonder if he's figured it out a bit. Matt Rose looks bad bad bad.

It's really a two player return, but those are two really good ones.

I kind of thought the Cubs would be giving Candalerio away to whomever they made the SP trade. I also would have liked the Sox to have Caratani in the trade as he is kind of a minor guy who is developmentally blocked/

I don't think that's going to be the plan to start. He throws 100 and can maintain it as a starter. The issue with him is injury risk.

Don't the Sox have a comparable they got from the Red Sawx?

There are a lot of big name pitchers in the Sox minor leagues right now. This is great for a team that is known for being able to develop pitchers.

It's amazing how many guys throw 100 now. Is it mechanics? Better athletes? Are the guns juiced- lol?? WTF!!

Even the pitcher they've always had are looking good. Spencer Adams and Jordan Stephens are both guys you should be paying attention to.

The Sox will of course give Cease every chance to start but odds are he'll wind up in the pen.

There are at least 10 pitchers in the system that I can envision having good major league careers, and of those about half have seriously high ceilings. Giolito is looking better than he ever really has nowadays. In my eyes he's on the verge of passing Robert and Moncada.

The best predictor of a future injury is a previous injury.
