Robertson is the one last piece that Hahn HAS to get right. I think everyone after that will bring in fliers. He has to get a known entity for Robertson.

Is there any other contender besides the Nationals in real need?

I think Milwaukee is the kind of long suffering team that you can manipulate for prospects once they know they are for real this year.

Diamondbacks. That guy they got is shaky as hell. Fernando Rodney.

Hahn is pretty smart. If he was shitcanned tomorrow almost every team would hire him. You're wrapped up in some residual Kenny hate which I suppose is a natural reaction.

People say Hahn is smart for no reason. This isn't his first or second season in charge. There's no evidence thus far that Hahn is good at his job.

In 7 months Hahn has built a system that has taken other teams years. They've really only had one rebuilding draft and they've already added three MVP-ceiling type players and at least six really high quality arms. Look at this:

www.minorleagueball.com/platform/amp/20 ... s-for-2016

Where is Fulmer now? Probably not even top 15, and while part of that (a lot of it) has to do with Fulmer's struggles it's more about what's been added.

It usually takes years to build this and they've done it relatively overnight. I've got my qualms with Hahn still (the Sale trade)...but the willingness to invest huge money in Robert (then banish him to the DR for stupid reasons) and massive shift in drafting philosophy does point to some real changes in how the Sox intend to operate.

They also have a ton of guys who are really close to the majors, you've probably already endured more unwatchable White Sox trainwrecks since the deadline last year than there are left to go before we have fun watching them again.

Is this where we channel our inner JORR and laugh that you think all of your top prospects will work out?

He inherited and traded two of the best left handed pitchers in baseball. Let's not pretend he turned chicken shit into chicken salad.

Issues that used to plague the Sox, like a lack of competent arms to fill out a bullpen or signing dogshit like Jeff Keppinger because there are no internal options, will probably go away. If they can squeeze another good core out of these blue chippers it'll be much, much easier to build a moat around them out of guys they already have than desperation moves for the likes of Jeff Samardzija.
