Sox fans never knew what they had, no matter how much we tried to educate them.

It's one start. Some of this overreaction is great.

Not to mention that his success today can probably all be attributed to being in the National League.

Oh I'm not. I'm just pointing out how shitty the starting pitching has been.

Hard to believe the Sox dumped this guy for a poor man's Jermaine Dye (Eloy) and another Nate Jones (Cease)

Was awesome to see him not collapse under the expectation of being furnished with a lead .

Dumb Cubs fans: Sorry, Theo. We were wrong. He doesn't suck like we thought. Despite his 4 year numbers telling us he's been a top 10 pitcher over that time. We're dumb asses.

Good #3 pitchers are incapable of throwing 7 shutout innings against a below average lineup?

Jimenez for the Orioles has an 6 ERA but starts ago he went 8 innings of 2 hit ball. Lets declare this trade a huge win after 1 start though.

It's not a win. It's a fair trade for both teams. But you didn't need those prospects. Cubs hitters are set for the next 3 or 4 years. And nobody is declaring it a win because of this start. He's 28 years old and has been a top 10 pitcher for 4 years. No reason to not expect the same with the Cubs when he's that young. He'll have better numbers in the national league.

Obviously, one game isn't enough to draw any conclusions. Still, it was nice to see him pitch a good game. It's okay to cheer for your team.

Of course you were trying to shit on Cub fan excitement over the game today. Most were just pumped to see Quintana pitch well. Re-read this thread, and I promise you you'll find maybe one or two statements that make proclamations about the trade. Most are just saying Quintana looks good or getting mildly excited about them playing well today. That's called cheering for a team, and there's nothing wrong with it. Today, Jose Quintana was one of the top pitchers in baseball and the Cubs dominated.

The pressure is clearly starting to get to FF. I'll take $150 today if you want to cut your losses

I think you might want to reread the thread, actually. The very few Sox fan replies were in response to posts that directly mentioned the Sox. Other than that, nobody criticized anyone for cheering. relax, man. Your team did great today. No need to obsess over us Sox fans.

If you truly subscribe to the idea that pitcher wins matter and that the difference between two major league lineups is so minuscule that the pitcher's opponent is basically irrelevant, then you can't also argue that the Orioles' lineup is "bums". If you disagree with this, you should take it up with your fellow Sox fan Win-denier.

That would be a good point if Jiminez wasn't also a bum.
