Gioblastoma, there really are no good outcomes with that diagnosis. Expected lifespan after diagnosis is 12-15 months, and that's including the younger patients who may be better equipped physically to fight it. He is 80

"I like patients who beat cancer." - possible future Trump quote at McCain's funeral.

And to think that it became an issue only after his sad performance in the Senate hearings a short while back.

A generally decent and admirable guy.

Yeah, I was a fan and would have voted for him until he sold his soul to the far right to become president.

We'd have all been better off with him than with any of the sponsored candidates in 2000 imho

Funny how MANY never see Jimmy 's public service (starting with the advancement of the nuclear navy) as patriotic and infinitely honorable.

Failing to acknowledge ALL of their contributions is SAD! Especially by the cowardly draft dodgers turned chicken hawks

I agree.

I think Carter was a horrible President out of his element. But I think he is a great American.

Palin was the 1 in 50 chance McCain had to beat Obama, so the RNC bludgeoned him into it.

Lieberman would have been enough to defeat the inexperienced Obama. His instincts were right even if the base wouldn't have been happy. They definitely wasn't voting for Obama.

My friend's husband died of glioblastoma in AZ. They wrote a letter to McCain begging for his help. He advised them to move.

Well now I'm gonna need John McCain's thoughts on child rape, brain trauma, and mail-order dinner kits.

My sister had glioblastoma stage 3 and thankfully years later has still been OK post surgery, but she is half the age of McCain. Depending on the part of the brain it is affecting, you can only do so much. Regardless of political leanings, this guy has already been through five hells, and I hope this doesn't turn into another.

Whilst in therapy recovering from my stroke, I happened to have the same therapists/angels as former Senator Kirk.

They all thought poorly of his later political posturing.
