Yesterday the Red Line arrives at the Lake St. stop at approximately 9:10 AM. beni is a little late, but spryly departs the train and heads for the Northerly facing exit. It is dark, but the damned escalator is functioning, so still a chance at a good day. A woman in a red lower thigh mini skirt begins her ascent up the stairs while I jostle with the lemmings for a spot on the left side of the escalator for a quick exit. beni asks himself "Why did you see this feminine form in the immediate gloom of the dark stairwell?" Because some dude behind her turned on his phone light. Is he some good samaritan lighting the way for his fellow commuters? Nope, he is actively filming up the young ladies skirt. This kind of really pissed beni off. It was not something that should be let to continue, but how does one stop the behavior? Nobody else recognized what this dude was doing. The escalator group was moving faster than douchebag and beni confirmed exactly what he was attempting to do. Maybe ten seconds before exiting to the CTA landing pad area...

As much as it prolly would be genuinely good gestures to 1) tell/warn ol girl and 2) confront dude, honestly I think "ignorance is bliss" for her here, and if someone is sobrazen as to semi-/publicly record upskirt videos @ the L stop then there's something fundanentally wrong with them that I don't wanna explore-to-exacerbate, especially in a public setting

Sini's thoughts were pretty close to mine, and this guy was clearly no choir boy. I ultimately got to the top of the escalator, and randomly cut him off behind the girl. Walked behind her a little to break his momentum, then stopped, stepped to the side and looked directly at him nicely and walked behind him. He stopped after 20 feet and went back to looking at his phone. I said nothing to the girl.

I am not wired to do nothing, but anything more than a non confrontational cease and desist was stupid.
