The man with the face for radio has misinterpreted. Frank was a single guy who owned cats and I always thought he was kind of straight.

He was a great moderator for the overwhelming majority of his time here.

Just take whitesoxinteractive as a comparison study as it is a place several posters here have mentioned as a place they visit. Do you think the moderators there are any less thin skinned about complaints or oppressive with bannings?

It's fine for you to have your opinions on this. I disagree but that's what opinion is. I don't think it can be supported that I was a supporter of bigfan and have now turned my back on him since he left, which was your accusation.

Don't you think that bigfan brought a lot his headaches onto himself with his ridiculous postings and the way he moderated? When I say the former, I don't just mean typos and punctuation. bigfan had some really bad thoughts and some boderline (at best) racist thoughts as well. When I say the latter, I mean from about 2009 on.

I think he brought it on himself by being completely permissive but then starting to crack down without rules or a series of penalties before total banning. I don't think he wanted to moderate at all. Then the place started to grow and become unmanageable.

Remember, for a few years here there was a person who posted as bigfag without even a hint of banning.

The worst example of over-moderating shouldn't be used as a baseline.

He flipped his shit when I accused him of being a racist when he posted this:

Remember, he definitely wasn't talking about black people.

Someone, maybe RPB, had the theory that bigfan flat-out didn't know what the admin control panel was until a few years in and only then did he start moderating his own board.

Partially true. He found a convenient way to delete. A one click type solution. I guess previously it was an arduous process.

So fair to say the early permissiveness was more laziness (understandably btw) than principle.

One time when we were arguing over the DePaul arena he edited my post to argue with me within my post. I think he meant to quote me but it came off like I was yelling at myself.

He is a serial entrepreneur. He started the board hoping the score would just buy it. He never intended nor sought to be some long term owner operator. The whole thing snuck up on him.

The guy is a crook. After seeing Donald Trump move into the big spotlight the past 2 years, it's obvious that bigfan is exactly like him.

Acts like he's the smartest man in the room, when he's usually the dumbest. Needs the adoration of everyone around him, and if there is even the smallest shot taken at him, he goes full on nuclear immediately.

There's been multiple examples of people being screwed out of money from his "contests". And when these winners point out the mistake (and they have to do so delicately because he's an enraged ignoramus), he usually snapped back by banning them for questioning his logic. He would then accuse these people of ruining his contests.

I know most of the contest problems were probably just due to his laziness, but when you welch on paying out won prizes, it speaks to the type of person he actually is. I would assume he runs his business the same way.

Good guy IRL....

That place was crazy. I got banned after the Ferrall stuff. I didn't really post that much.

Back in the day he and I had some great back and forth after dark.

MANY were deleted before the next morning.

As I said, there were plenty of examples of people taking very big shots at him for a good decade without the slightest rebuke. I don't think your analysis could stand close scrutiny.

You call me an ass licker but at the same time everyone in the thread acknowledges I spoke out against bannings. He never went nuclear on me.

BF liked people who he thought was loyal or useful. I think there are some similarities to the president but I wouldn't call him a crook. Some tendencies are needed for survival in some industries.

Even at the end when BF was ban happy, he was nowhere near the level of Moderator Power Complex at WSI. I still browse over there and post occasionally, but for the love of God I've never seen more thin skinned sensitive types. it makes for great comedy.

Well things got measurably better once he stepped down. Too bad he wasn't adult enough to stick around as a commoner.

Pretty sure BF squatted multiple domains. I distinctly remember him posting he owned Jhood.com or something comparable and being annoyed Hood wouldn't even pay whatever BF paid for the domain name to give it to him.

bigfan probably has empty 5 gallon water jugs full of pennies that he is going to meltdown and sell for the copper scrap once the Gov't gives the OK to do so.
