We'll never know. The dumbdick manager won't play him everyday.

Davidson has never given any indication that he can stay healthy playing everyday at this point.

Yeah, cut him and let him strike out 300 times for some other team.

At this point, its silly to not have Davidson playing just about everyday. DH, 3rd, 1st, doesn't matter....just get him in the lineup.

At this point I agree. I still think you'll see the 250 K guy who looks helpless against many righties if his at-bats aren't limited to good matchups for him, but we may as well find out for sure.

If he doesn't (usually) play against righties, we will never know one way or another.

I haven't watched a lot, but when I have...he seems to hit it hard somewhere. Loud outs too.

Right, but he's been protected by facing only the best matchups.

Yesterday gave you some insight into why he does not start against RHP. Still, I'd be please if he developed into one half of a good 3B platoon.

Right, but he's been protected by facing only the best matchups.

And that should stop. He should be playing everyday.

I'm pretty sure the Sox know what's going to happen if he does.

Really? Three AB's against a righty when he hasn't faced one in weeks gave you insight? You're in the wrong line of work.

Yeah but it's still worth the attempt again. Asche is horrible.

He hit a dong against Moylan (sidearm RHP) the other day.

Agreed. I never need to see Asche again.

Davidson should be starting against more RHP. But I'm sure there's a subset of about 25% of the RH starters where their stuff and ability to locate is just going to be rough. I'd still sit him for a couple of months against that segment, let him get confidence against the other teams' #3/4/5 starters who are righties.

This.

But a guy who can platoon and be very productive in a platoon still has value. Lets see if it continues.

Just saying....A team like the Dodgers, who struggled against lefties last year, might have interest in a player who can destroy southpaws. The Cubs also had less success against lefties last year and a guy who hits lefties really well was on my offseason list for them, yet they didn't really address that at all. The Sox might be able to get a good prospect from a contending team that has an acute need for the specific ability to hit lefties that Davidson may possess. But again, he has to have a greater sample size for teams to buy in. But by the trade deadline, he will have had enough of a sample size.

At least it didn't take him an entire paragraph to make an obvious point.

The Cubs have enough guys who strike out over half the time.
