Joe - stop playing him 6 days a week. Stop leading him off. We got fed up with no production with Schwarber in the lead off spot - Zobrist has been just as bad, in any spot of the lineup.

In the last two-plus months, since May 26, in 36 games (32 starts), Zobrist is slashing .177/.265/.269.

16 of those 32 starts were leading off.

Since the All-Star break, he has been marginally better, but not enough to be sitting Happ, Almora, Baez and Russell as often as the Cubs do. Especially Almora.

Regardless of endpoints, Zobrist should only start 3x/week right now. Avila is a better option against righties with Contreras in LF and Happ or Baez at 2B depending on the starting pitchers.

He bats .278 as a left fielder, but barely above .200 as a second baseman. Also he bats over .400 when hitting fifth in the lineup. And the dude OPS's 1.5 when hitting on a 2-0 count.

So start him in left, bat him fifth in the lineup and tell him to take two pitches every at bat.

Zobrist has no range at 2nd he's a below average glove anywhere but left. 8 at bats is plenty per week from him for a while.

Have to agree. Almora is the team's best CF and should play every day. Baez should play more than Zobrist, as not only is his defense markedly better, but his overall offense too. But they are paying Zobrist a lot and he's Joe's guy......
