I dunno. I just threw it out in the office and these guys who are baseball nerds and follow it pretty closely all guessed Greinke was right beneath or at 100 wins

He's got 168 and looks to be good to go another few years.

Verlander gets in too, imo

Verlander is closer than Greinke.

But there are some guys that probably should go in depending upon how much they relax it. If Johan Santana goes in, Tommy John and Jim Kaat probably should too.

It's going to be tricky. My first thought on Santana is no but I bet if I look at his numbers, they are solid.

Reporting from the beautiful EGV / Bensenville area and I can confirm that if they start at 2:50p, they will be experiencing another major rain delay in the 2nd inning.

Remember, it isn't about how many runs you give up as a pitcher. It is about how many runs you allow your own hitters to score on your behalf. Don't lose faith!

I wonder what Quintana's Run Support Allowed is as a Cub this season.

Wind blowing out. Let's see if Greinke took his xanax today.

Now that it's becoming clear to you that his W/L record illustrates who he is better than whatever numbers you prefer, you're going to try to switch it around and act as if the Cubs manage to pound Greinke in a single game that somehow makes Quintana better.

Enjoy your acquisition.

It would make him better than Greinke, per you.

I certainly don't think that way. Maybe I didn't use the proper italics in order to cite my sarcasm.

It would mean Quintana pitched better today, yeah. Not sure how you could argue otherwise. But my opinion of Quintana is based on a lot more than one inning.

Speaking of Schwarber and the guys who get shifted on, during the delay Grote and Schuster were responding to a caller who asked why players don't lay down a bunt more often as Schwarber did yesterday. Grote opined that while it's okay to do it maybe once every 30 at-bats or so, he thought in general it was a bad idea because it "seduces" players into going for a single and plays right into the other team's hand (as though the only alternative result is a home run). It made me wonder what batting average the Cubs would accept as a tradeoff to have him bunt more.

Knew Happ was grounding into a double play there. Dude has no approach at the plate. Swings at a pitcher's pitch on a 2-0 count. Get good.
