I need more than one start against one of the shittiest teams in the AL.

Friendly reminder that Amir Garrett struck out 12 orioles this year as well (in *6* innings no less) --- they might not be the brewers in terms of raw strikeout potential (kershaw started a game up there thst went ~11 innings and the brewers struck out like 28-33 times or something) but still this is a team that will strike out.

THAT SAID, good first start for Q and clearly this is what the cubs wanted. Good luck to them.

He had problems with the long ball on the South side and that continues with the Cubs. He may have gotten a 2nd win, but it wasn't anything to boast about. Fortunately for him, he's on a team now that can score a few runs for him.

17 home runs a year isn't a problem.

HR/9

2014: 0.45
2015: 0.70
2016: 0.95
2017: 1.23

There are only 4 qualified starters in the majors as of 7/26 with a ratio of 0.70 or better, so 2014 & 2015 were fucking absurd years for Quintana. The stats say he's trending in the wrong direction, but I don't know how you can maintain those types of ratios. Anything under 1.00 is tremendous. The best pitcher in the game is currently at 1.15.

He did? He got another no decision by getting taken off the hook. Are you suddenly ignoring "run support"?

Two pitchers took the mound today. And his team has the lead now. That's all that matters.

Pretty sure both starters allowed six. One guy covered 18 outs and Quintana covered 15. Neither one's W/L percentage changed. I wouldn't say Quintana pitched better. Would you? Really?

Wins and losses, JORR. Quintana put his team in a position to win. Greinke didn't.

Now maybe if Greinke would have given up fewer runs...

Do I need to explain to you how pitcher's W/L record works. You don't seem to understand it. In any case, enjoy Quintana.

By the time the game is done over 10 pitchers will take the mound.

No he didn't. He put his team in a position to lose. They scored some runs after he left and kept the loss off his record. Is that really so goddamn difficult to grasp.

I don't need to argue with you. I know who Quintana is. If you don't know yet (I think you do and just don't want to admit it), you'll find out soon enough.

At least. And no starter will get a decision.

Will weird boy Greinke be walking home with the win today? No. ANd if the bullpen can hold on, his team will be walking home with a loss. Q's team, God willing, wiill win the game today. And Greinke can abuse more meds. Meanwhile, Quitana grew up from poverty in Venuezuela and is now a WINNER and doesn't fucking need meds.

He's my guy! Thank you.

Winning pitcher on a winning team.

Sounds like you've admitted run support is a thing though. So we're done here.
