Which draft picks have been better as of late?

This year's pick is about the only one that seems to know how to hit. He's in his first year so the sample size is too small.

Anderson is a massive failure.

The catcher they drafted is batting around .200 in Class A and strikes out forty percent of the time.

Rodon is decent but looks like an injury waiting to happen.

Burdi is having Tommy John surgery.

The affletes they drafted before that are epic failures.

Hopefully this year marked the year they started picking players that can actually contribute something above replacement level.

Spencer Adams
Hansen
Collins(needs a little developing)
Burdi (You can not predict injuries)

Anderson is a massive failure after about 2-3 full years in the majors.

If he turns into a dominate bullpen arm he won't be a failure.

Maybe. A long way to go.

I'm not sure a guy with a 1.5 WHIP and only 6 K/9 can thrive anywhere.

When you have a top 10 pick, your goal should be a little higher than "Bullpen Arm"

Bob gets it.

Massive failures for MANY years by the White Sox leave me with little to no hope.

Nah if a draft pick is an impact major leaguer it's pretty good usually.

That's because they foolishly tried to change him. Put him in the bullpen and let him go back to what he was. He could be real good in that role.

Kenny will trade Fulmer for an Alomar.

Twice.

He was the 8th overall pick in the draft. Expecting a decent starter really isn't out of line.

Andrew Miller was the 6th pick. It really doesn't matter "Bob"

ok, if he's Andrew Miller, I guess it will work out. But that's also a long way away. Also Miller hopped through a couple of organizations before actually becoming "Andre Miller"

I don't think Bob understands what "failure" is, which is ironic in itself given his posting history.

Shame you have to have to resort to personal attacks when we were actually having a civil baseball discussion for once. The lack of a spiritual power in your life is evident. I will pray for you.

That's because teans kept running him out there as a starter. It wasn't until his 2nd year in Boston that he was moved to the bullpen for good and he thrived. The Sox just need to accept what Fulmer is and move him to the bullpen. I think he'll be a much better pitcher once they finally make that decision.

I think that will have to be next year, after what happened this year.

America was pretty pissy Hahn didn't get Rafael Devers the instant the White Sox haul was announced in the Sale trade.

.406/.480/.1230 in 8 games

ya ya ya small sample but man that would be nice at 3rd base.

Yea it was dumb. Not even a case of the Sox getting the wrong guy, they should've been able to acquire both. Now its Devers that looks like the MVP talent and Moncada who can't make contact to save his life and it looks even worse.

Kopech wouldn't have been included with Devers.

Is a Moncada/Devers package better than Moncada/Kopech/Stuff?

minor league nerds would know

Considering Kopech has struggled to keep BB/9 under 5, I'd take the position player every time. That is even before we start talking about injury risk.

They could've gotten all three. They should have not settled for anything less than a Moncada/Devers/Kopech package.

Also, Kopech has made huge strides with his control this season. He's not a 5bb/9 pitcher anymore. He's probably the best pitching prospect in baseball and maybe the most talented overall player in the minors. Hard to complain about him.

Can't argue that, 3 years of Sale may be the most valuable package we will ever see traded.

No way they could get all three and I actually think Kopech is the guy they had to have.

Kopech's last 4 starts:

IP 27
H 14
ER 2
BB 4
K 33
