I'm starting to believe Bigfan's assertion that the Bears do not have enough cash on hand. When do they receive their share of the TV funds?

And do they have direct deposit or do they have to wait for the check to show up in the mail?

They are the Bears, even with little cash on hand, they could certainly find a way to get their hands on some if needed. I dont buy that excuse for not spending.

Greg, do you own any stocks? Let's just say you own stock in CSFMB.com and at the end of year me and the HOF Board decided to keep $20 million in cash on hand distribute $80 million in Dvividends.

We knew we could spend up to $35 million, but only planned on spending $20 million.

Then Donovan McNabb became available IF we could give him an addtional $25 million bonus today!

Which Family Member/Shareholder is going to cough up the cash to be able to pay the $25 Million today? Especially in the Bears case where a number of family members own shares and only get dividends but Virgina retains all voting rights.

I don't know, but would guess Virgina shows up one week per year for an annual budget meeting and Teddy knows when that meeting is done, thats the money they get and there is no more unless the light bills needs to be paid.

I agree that between all family members, specifically those on the Bears board, the Money exists, but they will never leave it in the company or put it back in.
