What a fun day.. We got to the ballpark super early and took pics with the trophy and played catch in the plaza. Then we got in line to make sure Hank Jr got his wristband to run the bases. The lady put it in on WAY too tight and he started whining that it was hurting. I went over to guest services and asked if he could get a new one and when they went to cut off the wristband and saw how tight it was they apologized and gave him a free t-shirt.

Then he wanted to see where our seats were so we trekked up into the nosebleeds and sat down and relaxed for a couple minutes. Shortly thereafter, a woman in a business suit walks up and asks us if we would like a free seat upgrade. So we went from section 509 to 10 rows behind 1B and we got our names announced over the PA and got on the videoboard after the first inning. If any of you were there, you got to see Hank Scorpio up close and personal

Everything was going great until Carl Edwards Jr forgot how to pitch. My son hates him now. He still ran the bases though and had a freaking blast. Contreras is now his second favorite player behind Bryant.

I'm still bitter about that. Don played me like a fiddle. He iced me and then brought along a drunk attractive woman to distract me.

But seriously, what a feel good story Hank. And I think a great life lesson. You did the "right" thing and immediately proceeded with your son to the seat your "paid" for. And for your honesty, you were rewarded. You demonstrated a valuable life lesson to your son today... great stuff all around.

Now let's juxtapose that with the Subdivision Stories, it seems they are always trying to sneak into a seat they didn't pay for, essentially stealing from the White Sox organization. Not good.

Great story Hank.

Giving JORR a run for his money with that one.

Sounds like a really cool day.

It's also nice to start training him early on the Cubs motto of "It's ok if we lose as long as I end up doing age appropriate fun things". In 2039, when he is singing the 7th inning stretch sung by Jim Belushi's kid down 5 runs and getting party on he can thank you for this valuable lesson.
