Now this is one of my favorite WW2 stories. A Colonel was driving with his aides around behind the lines during the middle of the Battle of the Bulge when everything was all confused. They came upon a dirty disheveled Paratrooper diging a foxhole all by himself with several weapons scattered about. The Colonel calmly asked the man where the Front line was and if he knew where the Germans where. The Trooper responded without looking up from him work,"Sir,I am 82nd Airborne and this is as far as the Germans are getting today."
