if this thread doesn't bring back Mr. Reason, I don't know what will.

Hogan's Heroes is my favorite childhood show. Cancelled far too soon.

Columbo has grown on me...I watch one every Sunday night now...

It was already in channel 9 re runs by the time I was a kid. My older brother made me watch. I thought Richard Dawson was really English and put on an American accent when he hosted game shows

I think the WGN 5-7pm lineup included Hogans Heroes, The Odd Couple, Dick Van Dyke and maybe My Three Sons when I was growing up.

I was like, oh shit, he wasn't English.

I loved that show. That was rain delay theatre for me as a kid on GN. I flipped it on late in. UBS game last night to. Every weeknight from 9-10 it's on but I rarely watch it as I gave to use the antenna to view.

Hogan's Heroes is fucking great. It's my father in law's favorite show...but, Me TV is on constantly when they come to visit because he doesn't have it on cable back in Michigan.

Remember that game where you'd create a circle from your ring finger and thumb, and if someone looked into it, you got to punch them?

This one idiot used to claim that if, before you punched the unfortunate victim, the victim made his own finger-ring and placed it up to his eye and said, "I know nutting! I know nutting! I know nutting!" he would stave off the punch. He called it the Col. Klink defense, but I think he meant Sgt. Schultz. Whatever. It just seemed like a way of getting out of getting punched.

At some point about 10 years ago, I watched the entire Hogan's Heroes series from beginning to end. A well done farce.

I could never get into watching Columbo, although I use some of his deadpan approach with some of my more annoying clients and their stakeholders. I was more of a Rockford Files guy but sadly that entire show makes no sense in a cellphone era.

Things you find out while reading about other things:

Speaking of Richard Dawson,I just read on Wiki that his old Match Game buddy is responsible for the creation of the original morning zoo on radio:
Radio career[edit]

Rayburn and Finch, 1951
Before appearing in television, Rayburn was a very successful actor and radio performer. He had a popular morning drive time radio show in New York City, first with Jack Lescoulie (Anything Goes) and later with Dee Finch (Rayburn & Finch) on WNEW (now WBBR). Radio history pegs Rayburn's pairings with Lescoulie and Finch as helping to popularize the now-familiar morning drive radio format.[4] When Rayburn left WNEW, Dee Finch continued the format with Gene Klavan.

Love the theme song... can get it stuck in my head for about a half hour at a time when I'm in meetings at work. The reshoot of the open by Adam Scott and Jon Hamm is pretty good if you haven't seen it.

Get yourself a few hours of Columbo, Rockford Files, and Kojak ... that's a nice TV evening.

He lost three cases on the show. Some say four, but the fourth was overturned as a mistrial.

I still laugh whenever Perry Mason or Ironside is mentioned. In my head I immediately go to Kevin Matthews doing his Raymond Burr impersonation. Yes... I'm paralyzed from the waist down.

"Columbo" was one of Spielberg's first directing jobs. you can tell, some of the shots and angles and camera tricks he does. episode is "murder by the book". written by steven bochco, who did "nypd blue", "la law", "hill street blues", "doogie howser" and..."cop rock".

My folks were fans of Colombo. I've watched a few on metv or cozi or whatever it's on. Mostly background noise when I'm working on something.

Cop rock. God, that didn't last long did it? I remember the thought of it being lampooned but with a "it might work because it was Bochco" review.

Did you guys see S.W.A.T. is returning? Led by Hondo Harrelson (Shemar Moore) once again on CBS.

Cop theme songs was some of the best instrumental music ever!

Hey,great Thread idea...
