Julie is on right now. Someone for the love of all things, call in and ask Dan why the WNBA didn't get a better TV contract.

Goff has joked that Waddle is in charge of black lives matter. He also said that at ESPN 1000 they're not allowed to talk about RACE issues.

no wonder WMVP is a better listen

BTW, where is Jason today? I heard Larry before changing stations.
Is Jason worn out from his brave performance yesterday?

He's taking a page from Spiegs playbook and becoming MLK Jr. somewhere today.

was this a scheduled day (g)off or a "you should take a day to recharge the soul mover...take the range rover out for a drive... ~ Mitch" day (g)off?

I finally got a chance to listen to this deal. I don't think the caller was fake.

I have been a pretty big Goff fan, but in these moments he comes off sounding fake. He tries to hard. It is like he is trying to impress Bernsie.

Goff is always trying to impress Bernstein.

It's more than that with this situation. Like I said, Goff thinks he's in a movie for these moments. Like he's Denzel Washington giving the dramatic speech. So it's 8 minutes of Goff talking to a dumb ass racist. So dramatic. He sounds like a dumb ass maniac to those listening. But he doesn't know that.

Then at the end of the show, Goff thinks the Score staffers are gonna carry him out of the studio on their shoulders to a round of applause. It actually happened. Julie carried him by her self.

Goff: I drive a Range Rover. I have a nice crib. I take care of my baby and my baby mama.

Beardown: Shut the fuck up. Just hang up on the racist cracker and keep it moving. Move on to Lebron talk. Nobody wants to hear you bragging nor the dramatic speech.

The comment started out as a recounting of the times he was pulled over in Park Ridge for no apparent reason other than driving while black. He said it wasn't like he drove some old "jalopy." But instead of leaving it at that, he qualified it further, saying he drove a Range Rover.

He also talked about how he makes money on all his ad "reads." How does that work...do he and other hosts get paid because they are the ones landing the deals? If CBS wants them to read some ad copy, shouldn't it be considered part of their salary? Why should they get extra for reading a commercial? I guess that must be standard in the industry.

Yes, Jason gets extra money for those reads because they are personal endorsements. It's not a lot of money, because it's radio, and the client is Keller-Williams Infinity or Ghost Bed.

A free car is a lot of money.

If that's one of his perks, then yeah, that's great. I just didn't think the Infinity dealership would be leasing him a Land Rover.

I think the dollar sign there is key. The afternoon show may have finally gotten too woke for a sponsor?

Ahh didn't see that . Be funny (if it's true) if it were Land Rover that complained .

Now I'm curious, was Jason given a discretionary day off after his latest attempt at a viral radio bit, or did someone higher up at the station or in the cluster punish him for irritating sponsors?

What is HGH's reliability on matters such as these?

Depends how much bigger you want to get.

Hmm, I seem to remember them predicting a few things at the station? Could be wrong, of course. Didn't they start the JDC thread, too?

Land Rover: Go Anywhere...but Park Ridge, Illinois.

These are the times I wish I was good at photoshop

It would be fun to put Jason's face on the guy and add Park Ridge, then send it to them

Like I've said before, the sponsors are the people who can pull the strings, if you want changes to this show.

Safe to say at least one powerful sponsor agrees with Chuck's thoughts.

Either that or a powerful sponsor agrees with Jason's thoughts but also thinks it's terrible and potentially controversial radio that he doesn't want to sponsor.

Even if the sponsor agreed with his sentiments, I bet MANY of them just don't want to be associated with political opinions. They likely advertise on a sports station for a reason.

And I doubt the target demo of 25-54 year old male sports fans is a real socially conscious one.

Edit: JORR stole my thought.
