This is unbelievable. Entire neighborhoods are flooded up to the top of street signs. The majority of houses I saw had the 1st floors completely underwater. A lot of people have brought their boats in from different areas to help with rescuing. One boater said he could hear people screaming for help as he was passing by.

Have the ratings come in yet?

Also, I wonder how all of the Texas politicians who voted against hurricane Sandy relief will vote this time....

I can't even comprehend that much rain. The storms that hit the north burbs this summer were 7-10". They're saying up to 50" before this is over. That's their yearly average in 4-5 days.

Is JR. Cartographer a euphemism for something?

This makes sense. It may be time to start shifting more of the risk of hurricane damage to those who choose to move to areas that are vulnerable to hurricanes. Have a portion of your federal income tax be dependent on the risk of natural disaster financial damage.

You know who's a shitbag?

A guy who doesn't recognize that those who bear almost all the risk, if not all the risk of living in certain areas are those same people.

Listen shitfuck. I'll fly your ass down here at my own expense and walk you over to GRB Convention center and have you tell the people and babies there sleeping on cots that they need to have more of the risk "shifted to them."

You're not the Cosmos assface. Get over yourself. People are dying and having their lives destroyed.

You're a fuck of the first magnitude.

You're a fucking prick who benefits from places like Houston. The largest and most advanced bio-medical community in the country. The center of a disproportionate amount of refining. The home to the largest petro chemical community in the country.

You'd be the first pussy to cry that your gas goes up 30 cents a gallon because of something that happens down here.

You're a fuck, a fuck of the first magnitude.

And before you want to ask the questions: Drunk = No, Angry = No.

Sad for fuckfaces like BRick. If his house got flattened by a twister he'd be the first guy out there crying for help.

Maybe I'm a bit of a cynic, but I just have a hard time calling something a natural disaster if you can still post on this message board while you're in the middle of it.

No one Instagramed themselves jumping out of the WTC back on 9/11, just saying.

Here's what you should think.

Should someone in BF Kansas ask to pay less for Homeland security because people who live and work in Chicago get all the benefits?

No.

Should someone in Chicago ask to pay less for the Ag department because people who live and work in BF Kansas get all the benefits?

No.

Here is what you should think. We live in a society that at times benefits and burdens all of the citizens. And if certain citizens want to talk about shitting on those citizens in their most dire need who will benefit from and depend upon the society, those ass heads will get called out.

And should.

If you don't think Hurricane Harvey is a natural disaster then either:

1. You're a moron
2. You're a liar
3. You're a fuckface.

You pick.

You're not a cynic. You're a fucking moron.

One person out of 6 million has internet access and all the sudden it isn't a natural disaster?

Think about it fuckface.

Also, not for nothing, but if you think 911 was a "natural disaster" you are more of a fucking moron that I thought.

Or a liar.

Or a fuckface.

Take your pick

Maybe this matters maybe it doesn't. Not a response to morons, just a scene from a terrible situation.

One Post is fine. One Post and his family have been very blessed. We have had no impact to our lives. Nothing. Not even close. I walked my dogs every night but tonight. I realize how blessed I have been to be in this position but also how blessed my family has been the past 3 days. It's great and awful at the same time.

I have a 3 year old and a 0 year old. Two kids. All of the highways into central Houston have been almost impassible since Saturday night. So getting supplies to the first people in the evacuation centers was hard on a large scale operation for Sunday night. Obviously I'm sensitive to the needs of young kids.

Kids, who haven't chosen where to live by the way. Kidsdon't have a choice. Kids are two years old. So I packed up all the diapers, wipes, and formula we could spare and drove them down to the GRB convention center.

On the way out the door I grabbed some type of baby rocker/seat/bouncer and brought it.

It was like a ghost town getting to the convention center. I live close.

I gave them the diapers and supplies. Then I pulled out the rocker/seat/bouncer and looked at the volunteer and said "Give some baby a good night sleep tonight."

We both started crying.

That's Hurricane Harvey right now. The rain will stop by Wednesday. So it's not over.

Both of these posts are priceless. On one hand shakes seems to think people would have livestreamed themselves taking a swan dive off the WYC on 9/11, on the other we have LTG who seems to think the only reason that didn't happen was due to lack of available technology.
