Dominant.

edit: He now has the 7th best ERA in the National League.

Last seven opponents:

white sox
diamondbacks
giants
diamondbacks
blue jays
reds
pirates

That is four last place teams. One fourth place team. Three of the four worst records in all of baseball.

OMG, OMG, OMG...the cubbies have been so super awesome since the all star break!

Agreed. I said they should have scheduled 50 games against the Dodgers, but nobody listens.

They were kind enough to give him a chance to challenge himself against the Dodgers once this year...not so good.

He can only no-hit the Dodgers once every couple of years.

It is very simple minded to point to an opponents win/ loss record when assessing the strength of the opponent. The Reds for example are a last place team, yet have a VERY good offensive team. To shut that team down is impressive. Getting the win, not so much, because their pitching sucks. Thus the last place standing. The Diamondbacks have a pretty good offense, as do the Pirates. To have an ERA under 2 since the break is very impressive.

He's talking about pitcher and all offenses are pretty much the same, so you are with Steve on this, no?

You left out the Phillies.

No, he did not.

Frank embarrassing himself again. Very sad. He used to be a tremendous poster; the very best.

All offenses are nearly indistinguishable in the space of a single game, true. If he's talking about the pitcher it makes more sense but that isn't what the quote above says.

I am saying that Arrietta's dominance over the team's he has faced over the last two months, should not be diminished because the team he is facing has a lousy record. To shut down a team like the Reds is tough. They have a real good hitting team. They lose a lot because their pitching sucks. The Pirates, and the Diamondbacks have good lineups too. People that want to poo poo Jake's dominance over the last 2 months because the wins came over losing teams, should look at not only the wins, but the dominance he had over those teams, who can hit, even if they have lousy records.
