I guess the difference for Q is, he can still win while pitching subpar on the Cubs.

I'm glad he was able to channel some run support.

You don't bring the infield in when Q is batting.

Quintana is a strange pitcher. He was the same with the Sox.

I'll bet his career ERA in the 1st 2 innings is probably 7.50 or something like that. Then I'll bet his career ERA for the rest of the innings is 2.10.

Interesting. I never watched him pitch much for the Pale Hose.

Quintana had 4 wins in 18 starts with the Sox, and already has 5 wins in 9 starts with the Cubs.

Interesting.

I'm happy that Quintana is now meeting lowered expectations with a 4.50 ERA.

He's 5-3, for a .625 winning percentage.

If Q started every game for the Cubs they would win 101 games.

He's demolishing expectations for a guy who has a career winning percentage under .500.

You seem to be struggling with the concept of sample size. We can get a bet going that Quintana isn't going to have a .625 percentage for his Cub career. I'll even be a nice guy and make it .600 and you can have the over.

So sample size only works for W-L and not for ERA?
